Ending the game with 0-7, and a barrage of dropped barely contested marks from kickable positions is as self inflicted a finals defeat as you could ever suffer.

This iteration of our womens team doesn't have the character to win it. They shrunk in the moment.

That guy absolute mind games the comp by telling everyone a month ago that Brisbane were no good, absolute elite motivator.

Bonner made so many errors in that game with some being incredibly costly. Waterhouse should've played over her.
Allen was so slow and had no urgency all game. Out of match practice.
Gould just had a terrible game. Dropped several marks she should've taken and missed a shot she should've kicked.
Martin was just too small, and not fast enough. She was relentless in her efforts, but does it come to a point where her height is an issue.
Munyard was irrelevant.
Newman didn't do much.
Umpiring was pathetic. Davison gets the benefit of the doubt, but Gould wasn't given a warning to take a step back on the mark???
One of the throw ins was well short and didn't get a call back.
Kelly was well shut down.

Brisbane for the most part of the game were on top. Too fast and took more contested marks than us.

Crows had a good quarter and a bit. EJ was phenomenal. Randall was phenomenal. The two almost won it for us.

Our backline for the majority were good. Prowse, Sarah Allan, Biddell and Goodwin had good games. Goodwin had her best game. Stevie-Lee was pretty good. Mueller was quiet but she had low TOG. Allen the exception, was out of touch and slow.

Our midfield had a good patch, but for the most part, was equalised. Our rucks were equal, which is disappointing because our ruck combo has dominated all year.

Other than the terrible umpiring decisions and Brisbane being gifted 50ms and us denied 50ms, we wasted our opportunities up forward.

Then she kicks it to the square for the unlikely pack mark but making it easy for Brisbane to get it across the line. This is when footy IQ is important. The onlyplayer that I would've allowed to kick it from there would be EJ or Randall.

It worried me last night when Hatchard was interviewed on the news about being a senior player, with plenty of finals' experience under her belt. When asked what she'd tell the less experienced, younger players, she said that it was "just another game". But finals games aren't just like other games! You have to lift, you have to give your all and be fully switched on. Especially against a team like Brisbane, who has played so well against them in the past.
