With Didak, Swan, Pendlebury and Davis as our 4 best mids, our midfield is finally starting to look dangerous. It's also allowed O'Bree and Lockyer to play lesser roles and Wellingham and Sidebottom/Beams to work their way into it.

franklin is elite on one season but never mind. Can you imagine if Judd had actually played the way Didak has over the past month instead of just his reputation. Be a media melt down

1 minute its, Sack the Coach we are nothing, get in Buckley, we will never win a flag....to we are the greatest team that has ever lived, our midfield is Elite, Swan should win a brownlow and Didak is the greatest Collingwood, neh, Player to have ever represented a football team anywhere!

Hey, I rate Didak too, he is a fantastic player...just merely pointing out that hype has been in full throttle from the big 3 over the last month.
Essendon are now a champion team and Knights the greatest coach ever (only weeks after being smashed by the Cats)
Collingwood are a geniune premiership contender littered with an elite midfield (after beating Port, WCE, Freo, Melb and Syd)
Carlton are deciding whether to come or go and Judd is an overated hack not capable of doing the hard yards (a week after almost single handedly carrying his team to victory against the saints, and with a broken nose!)
It just amazes me how people jump on player's from these teams and the very team itself after 1 game. It is truly astounding.
For the record, Collingwood has its finals series now - and this is where Didak must proove his elite level. Essendon next week, then Hawthorn, Dogs, Carlton, Brisbane and Adelaide. If he is as good as people make out, he will stand up in these games.

What makes everyone think these 3 games ra ejust out of the blue?
Last year he was great until his 'accident'. He led the AFL in kicks and was IICR 1st of 2nd in our B&F (which he has already won)

Has Tambling been AA or won his clubs B&F? Nope, Didak has. It is not flash in the pan stuff, he has added to the form of 3 years ago due to an improved fitness base. He can now do the hard. enduarnce based work and still provide the brilliance.
WHy do Dids' last few years not count in proving his elite status? Hell, why does him winning us the '03 QF not count for his elite status?

Honestly, you need to calm down. We say Didak is in fantastic form, you go on some pissweak rant about how we think we're the best team in the AFL?

I'm so sick of threads about players being elite or not. Everyone has a different view on what elite is so its just a stupid question to ask.
Didak is an absolute star and has been for a long time now.
I don't know why so many Pie supporters are seeking validation.
Just take comfort in the fact you have a superstar like him in your team.

Didak is a great player, no doubt about it, but there are about 20 other midfielders of his calibre...for starters;
Gary Ablett,
Chris Judd,
Scott Pendelbury,
Joel Selwood,
Cyril Rioli,
Scott Thompson,
Sam Mitchell,
Luke Hodge (when in the middle; guess i would add Pavlich to that too)
Simon Black
Lenny Hayes
Brent Harvey
Adam Cooney
Ryan Griffen....
And i won't even add Bartel and Corey to that list just to keep you guys happy, and im too lazy to mention anymore.
All the above players have matched or surpassed Didak in my opinion, especially over the last 3 years. I guess you could make the argument that they are all elite, but then whats really the point...i would only call Judd and Ablett elite from that list, as i would have only called Buckley, Hird and Voss elite 10 years ago.
