Given what Whateley has just released and he is a campaigner then my info is lining up - he has not told North no so logically he will confirm his verbal yes by signing in the next 48 hours. Now that doesn’t mean it’s announced straight away. But the meeting with Patch and Zeibs has allegedly been scheduled and the so called soft date is out there. It’s too much of a coincidence that the GWS stuff is out today. As for Essendon - as I have said Clarko is a very strict person in what he wants - I don’t think he’s going to be doing due diligence on their s**t show when he’s just done it on us and has a 5 year deal in front of him.
In all honesty the GWS announcement sort of backs up all the ITK info - it’s very close now.

Here's what I want in order of preference.

1. Clarko to North, Rutten sacked and comes to us as an assistant. We win a Premiership.
2. Clarko to North, Lyon to *. We win a Premiership Lyon quits after 6 months.
3. Clarko to *, Rutten to North. We win a Premiership and Clarko quits does a Pagan at Carlton.
4. Clarko to *, Hird to North and we win a Premiership. Oh the LOL's.

Clarkson announced his interest in coaching all clubs not that long ago.

I'm not saying that we will get him, but I wouldn't say that his willingness to look at different clubs is something we dont all know.

I think its not going to be easy for the bombers to paint their club, board, and players in a shining light by having a review that came back all good, then making an appeal to him while allowing a coach to be hung out over the bin saying if you join us we'll take out the trash, then doing the 'review' that justifies it afterwards. Not sure why everyone thinks that the bombers list is really much better for a rebuild than North either - they haven't performed very well and whilst they don't have much more experience than north (15th v 16th), they are a few rungs older (12th v 17th) and that means that there will actually be a smaller window for premierships, less list flexibility and more list cost.

Yes its a big club, but I'll remind you that clarko just spent time with the Golden State warriors, which took a struggling franchise with a tiny silverware cabinet to glory and relevance in a way that transformed them into a powerhouse. That's not a story nor a legacy for its coach you will ever replicate at Essendon.

I'd also say that there is a good reason why he mentioned us and our list by name when he did that broad reaching interview after he was locked into that Golden State team - I think potentially his desire to transform a club might reach even further than just winning premierships now, and that the small/large dynamic might work in our favour more than the usual footy pundits realise. Not that I know anything, nor would say we are certain, but just reading those tea leaves I think there is more to it than the simple takes that seem to drive media opinion.
