According to media NM knew about this report before we appointed Clarko. That's a worry, if true.

Knew the report was being written, or knew the outcomes of the report? Big difference. The former would make sense; the latter would be head-scratching.

Hodge coming up on SEN apparently.

Did Whately address it?

Or still avoiding any issues.

Will never forget the only time ive heard him be daring enough to say anything controversial - when he tore smith to shreds over the sandpaper saga...... 2 years later after he scored 100 fawning over him....

Sounds like he's completely avoiding the story. But I missed the start.

The biased **** doesn't want to steal Geelong's big week.

Dunno - just said NM was aware of the report before appointing Clarko. Reported on 3AW by Caro.

The report (media extracts) is a shocking read. Hard to predict how this will end. They are allegations I suppose and will be much argued. Interesting that the ABC named the three people allegedly involved.

There's going to be lawyers all over this. Everyone is going to need to be careful what they say.

Everyone knew the report had been commissioned, I think? If the suggestion is that we shouldn’t have considered Clarkson until the report was completed and released, that seems like a stretch.

I‘m reminded of when we thought Ross Lyon was on the table to coach, plenty of us decided to trust Sonja’s values. I’m still happy to do that.

In the end, as much as I love the NMFC, nothing is at stake that compares with what has been alleged here.

The ABC didn't name anyone. They anonymised the individuals involved for their privacy and protection

This isn’t too question or doubt the stories of the alleged victims - but if this is true, in any shape or form, his ability to speak so endearing and positively about indigenous people and players in his first press conference is a stark contrast to what has been reported. That would be quite a shameful egotistical type of personality to have in any environment. I would imagine he and his management would want to be quick to either answer to this or the club should be working swiftly to take some quick action.

Anyone using this issue to have a go at Sonja is deadset kidding themselves.

There’s a realistic hypothetical here that she knew about Clarkson’s past behaviour and still wanted him inside the club.

There’s plenty to come out of this, but you’re being blinded by your friendship if you’re 100% confident that this will end well for her.

talked about it with Hodge for about the first 10 minutes of the segment before moving on to Grand Final stuff. Hodge seemed genuinely shaken by the story saying he was shocked because at the Hawks "family is number one". Didn't get the chance to hear much else.

OK - but that's not what was said on radio. I haven't seen the ABC report. Are you saying ABC did not state any names?

In this case you're not believing victims if that's your stance, not the media.
No not really, in a world where we are reporting or listening to Shaquille O'Neil supporting indigenous issues, a f*cking basketballer from america.... the world is going madder by the day.

They named the club people alleged to have been involved, not the players.
Well yeah. If we are referring to the victims, they were anonymised. No point protecting the alleged perpetrators
