They do realise that if every white bloke comes in and says they were treated fine, and then the allegations of treatment of First Nations players are proven true, that actually HELPS their side of it right? It goes a ways to showing that racism may have been a reason for the differing treatment.
I think you’ll find a few players (white and First Nations) will probably share their own experiences of the accusers, which will only help the accused IMO.

I wonder how many ex players will turn up? They’ve invited all of them from that era. Its going to be a real mixed bag of experiences while at the club. It’s going to drag on for ages as well.

All clubs would have disgruntled ex players, I’m not sure that’s a door they should open.

I remember Reece McKenzie putting out a scathing statement about his time at Richmond a few years back. The Hawks might have kicked the hornets nest here.
I've met an ex North player who was still feeling mental anguish about the way he was treated at the club 30 years ago. BFNAAK too. I reckon every club would have people whose careers didn't go how they expected that would be happy to provide some negative feedback.

Cousins, and he urged Reeves to commission the report. Claimed to have previously had no idea as to the allegations.

He was mentioned at the tail end of an article by Caro.
Yikes...
It doesn't discredit the players accounts but it definitely seems like a conflict of interest.
Leon Egan was at the centre of all of this but is not named.

I know a lot of people from a lot of professions who burned bridges on their exit interviews and would gladly try to take down their old bosses if they had the chance.

Its not specific to the AFL or race or gender.

It certainly adds to the smell around the Hawthorn Report if one of the key staff claims not to have known about the allegations, is then mentioned as being supportive of the victims in the allegations, pushed for the report to be commissioned, and then had his cousin hired to complete the report which went on to stray wildly from it's Terms of Reference in order to crucify some blokes. Not to mention the focus on just a very specific handful of years.

100%. I went to school with one of the whipping boys on here and he couldn’t be happier with his experience at North.

It’d be a broad spectrum for sure.

I hope the Hawks know what they’re potentially getting into. Could get really nasty.

That sounds a bit suss to me. Not sure if I'm reading too much into it though.

geez, genuinely pathetic and cowardly behaviour from Gralin, Forward Press and others in the MB thread today. it's pretty cooked that they can arbitrarily do what that did to SBTDOTB just because they disagree with his (reasonable and respectfully expressed) opinions.

i mean, SBTDOTB has probably forgotten more knowledge and lived experience with journalism and these issues than they know combined.

It is quite something that thread.

Is it true that Phil and Leon Egan are related or is that just a coincidence?

He was Hawthorn Indigenous Liaison during the issues in the report. He was upset and resigned because he didn't get a pass to the rooms after the 2015 grand final. He is still friends with "Ian" and "Zac" and he housed "Liam" at the time.

He is alleged to be the Hawks official/"coach" whose name was redacted from the report.

He's not that coach, but that coach also has their own rather interesting conflicts re Clarkson.

Wonder how Will Walker feels about how we handled his injuries and surgeries ...

There's a reason why the AFL investigation specifically includes examining the report itself:

Whether the ‘Cultural Safety Review’ commissioned by HFC and undertaken by Mr Philip Egan of Binmada Pty Ltd (Binmada Report) was an appropriate mechanism and/or adopted appropriate procedures for the matters Mr Egan was engaged to review and/or ultimately investigated.

Getting way off topic here, but what about the rest of the world? Imagine moving everyone out of Tokyo and giving them 50 acres to live off. It’s not happening.
You really only need a couple of acres to sustainably produce food. The other 45 is to hide the weed and coca plants.

You mean there might not be any witches? What am I supposed to do with all this kindling now!
Look there are witches. You just have to find them!! Abnd if they aren't behaving like witches burn them for hiding!!!
