Definitely looks like an eye opener. Not particularly sold on Brady as much now.Says a lot about his faith in our recruiting that he's basically doing that himself.
Or maybe it's Clarko being Clarko, likes to be hands on .Says a lot about his faith in our recruiting that he's basically doing that himself.
Of course he's watching. Ridiculous to think otherwise.Or maybe it's Clarko being Clarko, likes to be hands on .
Our recruiters would be in the stands.
They could just contract him and name him as the sub for the next 50 or 60 games, even if he is freelancing as North's assistant. If he gets that close to Boomers record the Pies will no doubt use every way possible to get him to the record...
True. We've done a stand up job at it so farOr maybe it's Clarko being Clarko, likes to be hands on .

I do wonder how many recruiters we have. I've seen recruiters from pretty much every team (as most have club bags) at my sons SANFL U18 games but I've never seen a North recruiter. There are 1 or 2 that I haven't worked out who they belong to. But seeing Rawlings there yesterday, sitting alone, it does make me wonder how much spread we have.Or maybe it's Clarko being Clarko, likes to be hands on .

I think we've done ok recently.True. We've done a stand up job at it so far
We have recruiters/spotters/scouts in all states Mav, as you know, some like to keep to themselves (usually don't like people knowing who they are, parents can get "funny" when they recognise you at times) and the ones I know, most definitely prefer to watch games alone. It helps to concentrate specifically on the game and players being scouted.I do wonder how many recruiters we have. Thanks mate. Yeah, very mindful of leaving them alone. Odd comments about players if they’re sitting next to me. The Carlton guys are good.We have recruiters/spotters/scouts in all states Mav, as you know, some like to keep to themselves (usually don't like people knowing who they are, parents can get "funny" when they recognise you at times) and the ones I know, most definitely prefer to watch games alone. There were times when I used to sit and chat with the "group" at games, (long time past for me), but it just depends on the day, who you're watching etc etc.
Don't forget, as a recruiter, you can go to a meeting or the like, with a certain player in mind and agreed upon by all, only to have a coach interfere and overrule that intended player, doesn't happen much anymore, but there has been some recent cases..... if you look hard enough.
I’m sure He’d watch replays of our game. Metro v country finished before our game started so he probs watched us on tv liveGC last week, Caufield the week before, now Metro V Country…
I must say…
I don’t love the fact he isn’t watching our games whilst we are rotting…
Replay paints a fraction of the picture.I’m sure He’d watch replays of our game. Metro v country finished before our game started so he probs watched us on tv live
And next week is in the box against the saints ready to takeover after

He probably already knows who is going to be culled. Plus watching us in the stands he might have some violent outburst best he just watch the replayGC last week, Caufield the week before, now Metro V Country…

Understand that…Not with behind the goals footage, GPS data, and everything else that a senior coach has access to.
And if he isn't in the right headspace to invest himself in our games just yet, then you can't hold that against him.
Understand that…
Equally my patience is wearing thin. Our issues are far more significant then just talent.
Says to me the focus for the list is the future.GC last week, Caufield the week before, now Metro V Country…

Yeah, hence my frustration. At the ground this is obvious. We’ve looked our best this year when we have got numbers to the contest and moved the ball quickly in transition. At the ground, I thought it was clear that the Hawks had a better system.
Their ability to spread from the contest and the confidence with which they'd take the game on offensively was impressive and unlike anything that we've seen from North Melbourne this year.
Every coach gets the comment that it looks like they don't have a system, but usually, you can get the gist of what they're trying to do.
Shaw in 2020 wanted to play the boundary and create contests. Noble in 2021 wanted to use the corridor, but halfway through the year started putting more numbers behind the ball. Noble in 2022 wanted risk-free football and had us at all times playing like we were protecting a five-goal lead. You go back even further and you always knew what Brad Scott was trying to achieve.
I've never worked out the plan this year. In the preseason we were playing in a consistent manner, but we kept tweaking things and I think lost all form of identity.
We trained like a team that wanted to move the ball quickly, but by round two we were playing outdated possession football against Fremantle. We were trying a high defensive press early, but it took five weeks for Brisbane to make that system look completely amateurish.
At the moment we play like we have a shell of a gameplan and the players are doing their best to improvise within it.
The Hawks knew where to place the kick and find the outlet. Whether it would be in the corridor or towards the wings. A lot of their kicks were long to a target running to get it on the chest. Their use of space was so evident early in the quarter when they were in transition. At the ground, I thought it was clear that the Hawks had a better system.
