Yeah, I think you just exposed yourself as not knowing a lot about basketball with this comment Jen.

Which is why I did say I didn’t - only watch the boomers sometimes and that’s as much as my basketball knowledge goes

He's not going to get drafted. Whilst his height is rare, it's not rare enough. He's not powerful enough of a mover to be less than a clinical pro. If he was to pursue NBA, it'd be via Europe with him trying to get a look in once he's fully developed his body and game.

I agree, seems like a long shot.
He’s not doing anything that has yet pushed himself in the top 100 less alone top 50

I don't know anything about the scheduling of the college season and the NBA draft... is there ANY chance Condon could be with us before the next AFL season or near the start of the season, or is it more likely to be late next year looking to season 2026 before he potentially plays any VFL at all?

The college year will finish late may. basketball before then, but you'd expect him to finish his subjects too.

So possible he returns, does a couple months of conditioning and training and plays a couple of games at the end of the VFL season.

Keep playing better and better each game

That's a silly tweet - He had 23 points because he went 7-7 from the field, but he only shot 58% from the FT line and had 1 rebound for the game, which are very poor numbers for a big man.

You wouldn't chalk that up as a good game, let alone a breakout game.
That was his best game, but been lower numbers since then.
Bit up and down atm
Honestly his 10 points and 8 rebounds and 7 points with 12 rebounds since then are both better games for the type of player he projects to be.

We can cheer for him all we want - He's not an NBA prospect.

He didn't make ESPNs preseason Top 100 players in College Basketball: https://www.espn.com.au/mens-colleg...ketball-player-rank-2024-25-preseason-top-100

He hasn't done anything to suggest that that lack of ranking was erroneous, even if he's been solid.

He's an okay basketball player, but he'll never make the NBA.
And I imagine, unless he is doing something outstanding week in and out, it's gonna be tough to break into the top 100, less alone the top 50 for the draft

Better than OK, but going by participation rates, being drafted to the NBA anywhere in the draft is akin to going pick 1 or 2 in the National Draft.

There's comparatively few basketball players in the world making more money than Condon is likely to make in the AFL playing basketball though - There's the NBA, the very top level of European basketball, and that's about it.

Agree. Aussie Rules might not have the huge dollars, but by participation rates, it's the easiest sport in the world to earn a really good wage.
