That's a massive if. Throwing away further studies because you might become a successful athlete (which is a short career anyway) is so silly. AFL clubs encourage existing AFL players to get involved in tertiary studies as is.

Why would we? he's still playing basketball. We prob won't hear anything until mid year, post draft, if thats when he'll give it up or at least make a decision if he wants to end it there or try 1 more year.

The majority of the Boomers squad these days are NBA level. At best he might get a game or two as a development player, but it’s unlikely he’d be anywhere near the Olympic team.

You are right about the talent in the squad but he definitely spent some time training with the squad prior to the recent Olympics so I think it’s something he may have in the back of his mind.

He's not just gonna hang around for a chance he could eventually be in the boomers squad. It's been very clear from day 1. Its nba, if not, he'll transition back into footy; which could be as early as mid year.

I doubt he’d have agreed to sign on as a cat B with us already if he was considering still pursuing a career in basketball if he doesn’t make the NBA.

Even if this kid joins us he’s a fair way off before making an impact if he eventually does.

No one knows what he's thinking, he agreed to the Cat B rookie thing almost 2 years ago. His entire life has changed since then, we'll have to wait and see what happens.
