The Republican National Convention marked a watershed moment in US politics. The Republican parnty has completed its transformation into a fascist party. Trump has claimed the mantle of God, and divine right to rule. On full display was the worship of the strongman political superman.

The Nazis demonised the Jews; Trump demonises immigrants. Among the political figures who support Trump, there are also many anti-Semitic Christian fundamentalists (ex: Mike Johnson)

Yet Biden sent his best wishes to "Donald" after the assassination attempt, expressing his solidarity and sympathy for...the leader of a fascist political party.

Only days before the assassination attempt, Biden's campaign was condemning (correctly) Trump as the new American Hitler. Then, after this event, they have suddenly begun expressing their condolences and best wishes to this same American Hitler, and calling for "national unity"!!

The crisis in US politics has reached fever pitch intensity.

Biden needs to step aside but Harris isn't the answer if they're wanting a chance of beating Trump IMO.

She's had no real breakthrough with the populous during her time as VP and is less popular if anything on a personal level than Biden even if viewed as a much more competent candidate.

The reality is whoever they choose isn't going to sway the rusted on Trump supporters to change their vote so they need to select a candidate who can mostly broadly appeal to the swing voter or get the Democratic base energised and off their arse to vote.

and that is the issue that the Democrats confront. They cannot offer any policy that Americans outside the top 10% wealth bracket would be motivated to support.
Their only argument, prior to the assassination attempt, was that Trump was the new age Hitler.
After the assassination attempt, they even abandoned that. Instead, they collapsed in a pusillanimous heap of rubble, trying to solidarise themselves with "dear Donald" and declaring that "national unity" with the fascists in the republican party was now necessary to "oppose political violence".
We are witnessing the implosion of American democracy.

You might be ready for some re-education. Maybe start with “Where are the Customers’ Yachts?”. An excellent Wall Street expose. And quite humorous, which might help also.

Calling Trump a fascist is alarmist bullshit. And actually pretty unhelpful if ppl want him defeated at the polls. Maybe have a crack at his policies.

Like many women, she has weighed being a single parent or maintaining a semblance of family for her son

Labelling Trump a fascist is a stretch. He might be a narcissistic misogynist and all-round crap bloke but he isn't Mussolini. EDIT: Plus I think the Don owns a boat.

I think you're underestimating Sideys pro bono work. His advice to buy a sail boat to save on running costs and to air BnB and negatively gear your beach house has helped thousands of battlers survive the cost of living crisis.
