Tippett should be the ruckman by the end of the year

He's been great but would have to lift considerably and/or have Goldstein/Gawn/NN drop off. Only kicked two more goals than Goldy and averaging a heap less hitouts. The gap in goals between Tippett and Gawn is greater, however so is the current gap in hitouts.
If Goldy gains back his consistency from last year I can't see him not being named, but Gawn is ahead of him so far IMO.

Gawns played 7 great games, but will he keep it up and will the aa selectors acknowledge it

Seriously???

Who knows, had a drink, am tired

But look he should be in consideration he has been outstanding since Pyke turned into a potato last year and he carried our ruck division

Should push into the squad of 44 IF he maintains form

Yeah exactly. If he can keep up this form he deserves the spot. Goldy is currently 5th on coaches votes, and is still very influential, but his output is less than his best so far for sure.

Goldstein is number 1 and rightly so right now

Waite, Ziebell and Goldy have been our best 3 players. I would have them before Wells.

Just happy that the top of the ladder - undefeated Roos could scrape 1 player into team.

Think the reason Wells was mentioned is he is a type of player which if we were putting a true hff in the team he'd fit quiet well.
ie goldy might be your best but hes behind Gawn, likewise Zeibull might be better than wells but hes vsing all the other elite ball winning mids for a spot.

JP Kennedy still sitting pretty at 2nd in clearances and contested possessions after somehow being left out of the AA side last year.

And I don't like being the guy who spruiks the wares of his favourite player in his team any more than you don't like reading it, but I'm continually perplexed by how Kennedy doesn't get anywhere near his deserved plaudits from the media. Those who claim Hannebery or Parker are our best midfielders have quite literally no clue.

Updated round 7 team

FB: Shaw, Davis, Grundy

CHB: Enright, Rance, Simpson

C: Hannebery, Mitchell, Gaff

CHF: Bruest, Franklin, Fasolo

FF: Betts, Lynch, Waite

F: Gawn, Dangerfield, Parker

IC: Jenkins, Neale, Hall, Zaharakis
did you watch Gaff on the weekend and against hawks. His an incredible accumilator of the footy and is smart user. but when our mids get dominated and he doesnt have the space his disposal turns to crap and thats what happened yesterday. This coming from a gaff fan.

One guy who has started off slowly but has got back to his best in the last 4 weeks is brad sheppard. unlucky to miss the 40 man squad last year. But his last few games have been sensational and kept the eagles in the contest early on. Most defenders his size would average more disposals than but his strength is just is his footy smart and his ability take intercept marks (tho he seems to be racking more of the footy this season with mackenzie back). He is also very good at playing on guys 10cm taller and 8-10kgs heavier than him. I think he will get the tough task of Nick Riewoldt this week.

Waite and Ziebell with claims from North. Well Waite would be a lock right now. Goldy not far off but a little inconsistent so far.
Goldy would still be in as second ruck behind Gawn so far I think.

Tall forward slot will be interesting - you can't fit Buddy, Lynch, Riewoldt and Waite all into the one side. Lynch probably misses out of those four, but that is rough.

Selwood has to be getting a game now. Equal top of the coaches' votes with Dangerfield. Has scored 29/30 the past 3 games.

Jack Ziebell has polled coaches votes in 6 of the 7 games. Has to be in. Goldy has also moved up to 5th - equal with Parker.
This is why using coaches votes is ridiculous, right now the master of clangers ziebell would be lucky to get in the squad.

He has had a big impact in 6 of the 7 games. It's time to start to take the blinkers off.

JZ is a big reason we are top of the ladder undefeated!!! He is in my team. Consistently in the best players is exactly what the AA is about.
