McPhee would be an absolute certainty at this stage of the year to get AA

Yes, but thats voted on by the fans, who as you can say are biased. But from memory in the 'official' poles on TV and the papers have judd in front of kerr.

Frankly I think at times fans that vote in polls like this probably know more then the so called experts. I get continually frustrated how soem big name players get included into best week in week out when they lesser known players are clearly performiing better.

For whats it worth I think Judd > Kerr, because his disposal is cleaner though Kerr is closing the gap very quickly.

Bit stiff on Matthew Lappin!

Everyone has missed Leo Barry.Played on Lloyd, restricting him to **** all except for ****ing soft free kicks.

Played on that guy from the Hawks, shooter guy.Who did nothing.

Played on Gehrig at full back, got 23 touches and restricting Gehrig to two handballs, no goals.Gehrig went off the ground, Barry moved too Hamill who had no influence after Leo was moved.

Star.

I wasn't saying all fans are biased, just some can be. I know I can be at times towards my favs, but i do agree with you that some fans do know more than 'experts'.

Good teams, all.

But what about the opposition? Are they any good?

Who will win?

Picking an All-Australian Team is just a follow on from a w*nk American Tradition.

Means absolutely nothing if there is no opposition.

I demand Nathan D. Brown (Melbourne) and Jeff White. Yze as well.

Rising star: Jared Rivers

Brownlow Medal: Jeff White

Coleman Medal: Fraser Gehrig

I don't think I'm being particularly biased either. Rivers and White have been outstanding.

FB: Nathan D. Brown Matthew Scarlett Luke McPharlin

HB: Ben Johnson Chad Cornes Adem Yze

C: Nigel Lappin Mark Riccutio Simon Black

HF: Brad Green Warren Tredrea Aaron Hamill

FF: Brendan Fevola Fraser Gehrig Luke Power

R: Jeff White Paul Hasleby Lenny Hayes

I: You can raffle it

mate u must have rocks in ure head not to be putting matty lappin on a half back flank.

Only 4 players with any sort of chance from WC this year. Judd, Kerr, Cousins and Matera.

You would think on current form that Judd and Matera are certs and Cousins is always around the mark. But us WC fans have Kerr leading the BFWCPOTY after 7 rounds, yet to tally the last 4 rounds because im slack.

All 4 are chances, depends on how the second half of the year pans out. All 4 wont make it however 3 might, depending on how Cousins second half of the year goes.

1 player missed by half of the experts on here - Adam Simpson.

Club loyalties aside - he'd be one of the 1st few picked (and our only rep in the AA)

His stats season to date:

Marks - 67 (ranked 13th in AFL)
Disposals - 299 (ranked 1 in AFL)
Kicks - 177 (ranked 5th in AFL)
Tackles - 30 (ranked 53rd in AFL)
Hit Outs - 21 (ranked 52nd in AFL)

I don't have the stats for centre clearances - but he'd be up near the top of the list - another of his assets.

Either on the ball as R/R or in the guts.

Why McPhee, he has played well, and would appear to be quite improved

but only around 17 disposals a game, not a league leader in clearances or possessions or anything

and would be near the top of the league in giving away frees from what I have seen

don't see how that makes him an All Australian?

You have no idea how back men play, do you?
I dont believe one of your favourite sons, 'leach' Silvagni, ever averaged 17 possies a game. Think of all the spoils, taps, tackles, etc that backmen get. Now think about how 17 possessions is a hell of a lot for a backman...
You would kill for McPhee in the Carlton backline at the moment.

Now fellas this is what it'll look like at seasons end;)

B: Leo Barry, Matthew Scarlett, Aussie Jones

HB: Luke McPharlin, Chad Cornes, Adam McPhee

C: Paul Haselby, Lenny Hayes, Mark Riccutio(VC)

HF: Jimmy Hird(C), Barry Hall, Warren Tredrea

F: Fido Matera, Fraser Gehrig, Matthew Lloyd

R: Jeff White, Chris Judd, Simon Black

Int: Paul Williams, Nic Riewoldt, Peter Everitt, Nigel Lappin

Well a good guess anyway?

Yeah, but he was a full back, 17 not a lot for a run around the ground flanker type.

The Swans guy has done better than that this year ;-)

and a backman giving away a lot of frees? Not good.

Simpson and Barry are certanties

If the Australian Side had to play another country you would probably pick Scarley AND Harley because of their fantastic teamwork and amazing defense.

And isnt the All Australian selection based on form over a number of years not just "11 Rounds"

Scarlett had two bad games at the start of the year

'It' might be, but this is not.

3 bad games by the looks, which out of 11, is a lot.

And certainlyl a hell of a lot more than none.

Id replace Matera with chapman he will be a better option all over ground and wont stop trying.

Why would you do that??? My idea of the AA team is that the best player for each position is in. Phil matera is the best forward pocket player, so he deserves to be in the team in that position
