He's not in my 22 yet but Liberatore is working himself into calculations today clear BOG and had the better of Swan. His past month has been excellent and he and Macrae might scrape into top 40 calculations at this stage.

Don't think Macrae will be there. Libba absolutely a chance

We won the league last year clearly playing the best football and we had two AA players (5 nominated). If Port have an argument for 8 players in the AA team, then it is a stupid, stupid hyped up world we live in. Then again, Mooney and Maxwell have been in it so I'm not going to lament the AA teams dignity when it was brutally murdered long ago :D

In 2012, the Hawks finished on top of the ladder and THREE Collingwood midfielders were picked ahead of our B&F winner Sam Mitchell (the Brownlow runner-up.) Swan and Pendles were good, but they also battled injuries along the way and struggled for 5-6 games. It was a joke they left out Mitchell. Hopefully when they strip Jobe Watson of his 2012 awards they can retrospectively make amends and correct the oversight.

In 2013, the Hawks finished on top again and THREE Geelong defenders were preferred to our B&F Josh Gibson. Scotty Thompson, Michael Johnson, Harry Taylor, Corey Enright and Andrew Mackie were all chosen with 2 half back/midfielders selected on the back flank. Farcical they left out Gibbo for the 3rd year running. A defender wins the B&F in a premiership year and doesn't make the AA team...

The All Australian selectors are muppets. They have ruined the prestige of this award in recent years
Nobody respects the All Australian team anymore.

They need to replace Darcy, Ricciuto, KB, Frawley and Jakovich. They are all clueless boofheads who must've taken too many hits to the head in their playing days.

Forgive me for not paying too much attention to opposition defenders, but Dunn's form in 2014 has been every bit as good as Frawley's AA year in 2010. Again, it will come down to whether there's been better, but his form in isolation puts him into calculations... surely.

Nah, you're just excited about the All-Australian team because you're anticipating 6 or 7 Port players to make it

Hopefully, the imbeciles on the selection panel overlook all the Port players this year and name just one or two (like they did to Hawthorn and Freo last year) and then we'll see how much you "respect" the All Australian team

No I respect the all Australian team. Even when port had no players in it.

And boohoo Can't fit every good player in

He's been superb.

Makes a difference when the entry is slowed down.

Nathan Jones again. 11 kicks, 16 handballs @ 85%; 3 marks; 8 clearances; 5 tackles and 1.0.

For the season he's averaging 28 disposals (Pendlebury avg 29) @ 71.9% (same eff as Pendlebury); 3 marks (3.2 to be exact; Pendlebury averaging 3.7); 6 clearances (6.3; Pendlebury avg 5.4); 5 tackles (4.9; Pendlebury 5.6) and Pendlebury has kicked 10 goals vs Jones 6.

If Nathan Jones isn't in the conversation then neither is Pendlebury; he stacks up very very favourable statistically and in-game.

I don't watch much Melbourne games but does Jones get the hardest tag every week like Pendlebury? Because last week Tyson was the one who got tagged by Macaffer.

Jarman Impey is a certainty for the back pocket

Well Jones got Hocking this week. It depends - sometimes Jones is instructed to tag himself. The example is the Carlton game where he destroyed Murphy and still picked up his touches and a goal.

Don't know if we'll see any North players this year. Boomer and Cunnington our biggest chances, I think.

While i agree that Nathan Jones should be in the conversation, comparing his stats to someone like Pendlebury is pretty pointless.

Pendlebury does a lot more damage with his disposals than 99% of players in the comp.

FB - B. Smith - Dunn - M. Johnson
HB - Malceski - Hooker - Hibberd
C - Beams - J. P. Kennedy - Rockliff
HF - Gray - Franklin - Harvey
FF - Breust - Hawkins - Gunston
R - Sandliands - Ablett - Pendlebury
IC - N. Jones - Fyfe - K. Simpson - Lobbe

A rough team for so far this year.

Don't know if we'll see any North players this year. Boomer and Cunnington our biggest chances, I think.

Grey, Breust and Elliot are getting a lot of noise.

Robbie Gray is pretty much a consensus AA pick atm averaging 24 touches a game and kicking 21 goals so far.

Boomer is averaging 26 touches a game and has kicked 17.

I'd say Boomer is definitely in the conversation.

If he ends up kicking 35+ for the season with that amount of disposals, he'd almost get in the midfield.

B: Brodie Smith - Steven May - Lynden Dunn
HB: Nick Malceski - Cale Hooker - Michael Hibberd
C: Dayne Beams - Tom Liberatore - Scott Pendlebury
HF: Brent Harvey - Jarryd Roughead - Robbie Gray
F: Luke Breust - Tom Hawkins - Jay Schulz
R: Aaron Sandilands - Josh Kennedy (Syd) - Gary Ablett
I: Nathan Fyfe - Callan Ward - Joel Selwood - Matthew Lobbe

Look mate, I'm not whining about some idol of mine who missed out

I'm talking about Best & Fairest winners of the top team

Have a look at the history….

Minor Premier's B&F
2013 - Haw, Josh Gibson - missed out on AA selection
2012 - Haw, Sam Mitchell - missed out on AA selection
2011 - Coll, Scott Pendlebury, All-Australian
2010 - Coll, Dane Swan, All-Australian
2009 - St K, Nick Riewoldt, All-Australian
2008 - Geel, Joel Corey, All-Australian
2007 - Geel, Gary Ablett, All-Australian
2006 - WCE, Chris Judd, All-Australian
2005 - Adel, Simon Goodwin, All-Australian
2004 - Port, Warren Tredrea, All-Australian
2003 - Port, Gavin Wanganeen, All-Australian
2002 - Port, Matthew Primus, All-Australian
2001 - Ess, Jason Johnson, All-Australian
2000 - Ess, Dustin Fletcher, All-Australian
1999 - Ess, Mark Mercuri, All-Australian
1998 - NM, Wayne Carey, All-Australian
1997 - St K, Robert Harvey, All-Australian
1996 - Syd, Paul Kelly, All-Australian
1995 - Carl, Brett Ratten - missed out on AA selection
1994 - WCE, Glen Jakovich, All-Australian
1993 - Ess, Gary O'Donnell - missed out on AA selection
1992 - Geel, Ken Hinkley, All-Australian
1991 - WCE, Craig Turley, All-Australian

Darcy, Ling, Ricciuto, Frawley, Jakovich, Bartlett and Frawley have failed to do the job properly.
How could they leave Gibson and Fyfe out of last year's team? What games were they watching?

I think it's time for a new selection panel to restore the credibility of the award
