Look mate, I'm not whining about some idol of mine who missed out

I'm talking about Best & Fairest winners of the top team

Have a look at the history….

Minor Premier's B&F
2013 - Haw, Josh Gibson - missed out on AA selection
2012 - Haw, Sam Mitchell - missed out on AA selection

2010 - Coll, Dane Swan, All-Australian
2009 - St K, Nick Riewoldt, All-Australian

2005 - Adel, Simon Goodwin, All-Australian
2004 - Port, Warren Tredrea, All-Australian
2003 - Port, Gavin Wanganeen, All-Australian
2002 - Port, Matthew Primus, All-Australian
2001 - Ess, Jason Johnson, All-Australian
2000 - Ess, Dustin Fletcher, All-Australian
1999 - Ess, Mark Mercuri, All-Australian
1998 - NM, Wayne Carey, All-Australian

1995 - Carl, Brett Ratten - missed out on AA selection

1993 - Ess, Gary O'Donnell - missed out on AA selection
1992 - Geel, Ken Hinkley, All-Australian
1991 - WCE, Craig Turley, All-Australian

Darcy, Ling, Ricciuto, Frawley, Jakovich, Bartlett and Frawley have failed to do the job properly.
How could they leave Gibson and Fyfe out of last year's team? What games were they watching?

I think it's time for a new selection panel to restore the credibility of the award
Well you are actually.

Ratten and O'Donnell were both stiff not to make it but otherwise the list shows 19 out of 23 have made AA. Seems very reasonable to me.

No, my idols are Hodgey, Cyril and Roughie

Simply pointing out the idiocy of the AA selectors and backing it up with evidence.

Interesting to see you ignored the point of my previous post and had a go at me instead.
Again as I said not every good player is going to make it. Obviously the AA selectors thought there were others that were more worthy than Mitchell and fyfe, you disagree with them and that is fine, but to claim "no one respects the AA team anymore" etc just coz you are annoyed that Mitchell didn't make it is just immature and stupid.

It's not just me, mate. I don't know a single Hawthorn fan who has a shred of respect for the All Australian team anymore. That's not "annoyance" or "sour grapes". Just a simple fact. It's what happens when your team dominates for two seasons and they leave out your two best players in those years. I was steamed up about it. Other Hawk fans just laughed and said "Who cares about All Australian team? It's a joke. The selectors are idiots."

It's a shame, I reckon. It could be good, but it ruined by the buffoons like Luke Darcy who select the team and stuff it up. Listen to Darcy's commentary on Saturday nights. Listen to some of the shit that Ricciuto says. They are jokers.

B: Brodie Smith - Alipate Carlile - Daniel Talia
HB: Nick Malceski - Cale Hooker - Kade Simpson
C: Dayne Beams - Josh.P. Kennedy - Nathan Fyfe
HF: Jack Gunston - Lance Franklin - Robbie Gray
F: Luke Breust - Tom Hawkins - Jamie Elliott
R: Aaron Sandilands - Scott Pendlebury - Gary Ablett
I: Tom Rockliff - Chad Wingard - Dion Prestia - Brent Harvey

Next in line: Jones, Riewoldt, Ward, Selwood, Johnson, Mackenzie, Boak, Ebert, Birchall, May, Hibberd, Dangerfield, Gibbs, Liberatore, Martin.

Heres one from left field that will get howled down but I think people might find it interesting.

Neville Jetta from Melbourne.
Played the opening stint of the season in the VFL, but look at his form since he got back.

Eddie Betts: 8 disposals, 0 goals
Luke Dalhouse: Goalless (did have 22 disposals)
Chad Wingard: 5 disposals to half time before he was subbed off
Jaime Elliot: 9 disposals and 1 goal
Paul Chapman: 18 disposals and 1 goal

Not a bad little resume there, with Wingard and Elliot being talked up as AA forward pockets, Jetta dominated them both.

Bartels a lock.

HBF or HFF

He is nowhere near a 'lock'. Has had a few quiet games this season. Like many of his teammates has been an up and down season for Bartel.

If they are picking a lockdown small defender Nick Smith (Syd) is the most deserving

Grey, Breust and Elliot are getting a lot of noise.

Robbie Gray is pretty much a consensus AA pick atm averaging 24 touches a game and kicking 21 goals so far.

Boomer is averaging 26 touches a game and has kicked 17.

I'd say Boomer is definitely in the conversation.

If he ends up kicking 35+ for the season with that amount of disposals, he'd almost get in the midfield.

Gray has been a lot better than harvey this year.

His game against Betts was really impressive. Our midfield was doing Eddie no favours with our delivery into forward 50 that day, but we did send a LOT of the ball Eddie's way, and Jetta absolutely destroyed him, both on the ground and in the air. Didn't expect it from him at all.

Yeah, even with his early poor form he was putting up good numbers. Maybe not in the side but squad is definitely a chance.

What? A lot????????????
Both play on ball drifting forward so the important stats are below
Possies I50 GA Tackles Goals Eff Dis
Harvey 25.5 4.5 .5 3.6 17 77%
Gray 24.4 3.2 1.3 2.6 21 71%

Please show me where a lot is?

7% less TOG
4 more contested possessions
1.1 more marks inside 50
and the MASSIVE one
2.7 more clearances per game..
