Jacobs was having a better year than Lobbe even before today. Still behind Sandilands and won't be AA but he's the second best ruck in the comp easily. The Lobbe love had probably been slightly over the top from a big push in the media, not saying he hasn't been fantastic, just not as good as Jacobs or Sandilands

An interesting stat regarding Jay Shulz.... Against top 8 teams he has only kicked 10 goals for the year. While against Bottom 8 teams he has kicked 35 goals. Compare that to Hawkins who has kicked 25 goals against top 8 teams, & only 16 goals against bottom 8 sides. Going by that there is no way Shulz should be ahead of Hawkins at FF, even if he wins the coleman.

Like I said, Sandi has beaten every ruckman he has played on Including Jacobs, how is Jacobs ahead in the AA race?
Only because I think there should be more than one ruckman in the squad if not the team. I'd say that Sandi is definitely the clubhouse leader at the moment but Jacobs is possibly the next best (closely followed by Lobbe and then probably Mummy)

Only Port player that deserves a shot this year is Gray.. But after yesterday who knows

Overreaction much? Schulz is leading the Coleman by 4 goals, and you'd be hard pressed to find 9 or 10 mids who have been better than Boak this year.

I think it's an easy decision to include both.

When was the last AA team without two recognised ruckmen? Both deserve it but I think it's a majority opinion (rightly so) that Sandi is ahead of Jacobs - not to demean Jacobs' form, though. Lobbe is a bit of a long shot.

Sandi has been marginally better than Jacobs this year imo. Its closer than a lot of people believe though. Mckenzie really is underrated.

A fair amount of neutrals in this thread have Eric Mackenzie as AA full-back. I think he can make it.

I think both Sandilands and Jacobs should be in the team. There is a trend of using only 1 recognised ruckman, but last year no-one was even close to Minson, while before that there was often a forward who could go into the Ruck used. Is there anyone who has been good enough to be used in the FWD/RUCK role? I suspect Sandilands starts and Jacobs on the bench.

Any thoughts on Scott Thompson for Adelaide? I see danger field in some sides but to me Thompson is having the better season. Probably not in the team but definitely the 40 I reckon.

Love Thommo, averaged 31 touches in the past 11 weeks

The AA team must play a bottom 8 side then

If you watched both teams play every week you would also see Hawkins gets the ball kicked too him twice as much as Schulz. We have a lot more options forward than Geelong do who heavily focus on kicking to Hawkins a lot more than we kick to Schulz. From watching 90% of matches this year i'd think Schulz would get the most goals per time the ball is directed at him in the afl ahead of any other key forward.

Champion_Data can you please confirm or deny. Doesn't sound right simply due to his lack of goals against top 8 sides.
