I rang local woolies to ask does pension card get excepted they said no only senior cards and disabled pricks
Interesting - this is from the Woolies announcement:

Dedicated shopping hour for the elderly and people with a disability*

7am to 8am - Tuesday 17th to Friday 20th March

To help support the shopping needs of the elderly and people with a disability in our community, we have introduced this temporary measure to help them obtain the essential items they need most in a less crowded environment. Access to the store at this time will require a relevant Government issued Pensioner Concession or Seniors Card.

Not sure if you've got easy access to Coles, because this is who they are accepting:

Coles supermarkets will temporarily change their trading hours to open 7am to 8pm on weekdays, with the first hour* of trade open exclusively to customers who hold a government-issued Pensioner Concession Card, Commonwealth Seniors Health Card, Companion Card and Health Care Card^. Once this hour is complete, all other customers will be invited through the doors to complete their grocery shop.

Work is going to be fun for the next few weeks.

Since the business I work for has decided to split our department up into three different sites, I'm back in Geelong for who knows how long. In addition to that, we have a call centre in Manila which has essentially been closed down until the 14th of April, so not only are we taking our normal calls, we're also helping out by taking the odd basic billing enquiry calls. And here I was thinking I'd got away from doing that. At least we can transfer the more complex calls. :)

Hehe. I'm not in the queue for the basic billing enquiries. Not going to tell anyone either. :D

They might as well kill the season now. 17 games isn't anywhere near enough for it to be meaningful.
Why not?

Play every team once and if anything it gives more meaning you every game & every win because suddenly you don't end up witha situation where some teams get an easier draw due to double ups against lower ranked teams while others double up against stronger teams

There seems to have been discussion in the past about 17 game h&a season and this could be the best chance to see how it plays out and if it's viable going forward

The usa has just banned gatherings of 10 people. Schools closed for the year. We will follow. The football season is over. i would be more worried about your jobs right now.

But the whole world is going into lockdown to varying degrees and that slows spread. The northern summer months will also slow spread. So i dont see how we get to herd immunity for a year.

if we have preventative measures for 4 months the world economy will completely collapse. Its going to be way worse then the gfc.

this is going to be the biggest social change since world war 2.

i think this could be averted if we adopted the uk approach and try to let it spread as quickly as possible to the young amd healthy. But that deosnt look like its happening.
That herd immunity effect kicks in to slow itself down around the 70% of population infected mark and most of the projections have us hitting that in a year regardless. Happy to be wrong because that would mean we're managing it more effectively

The USA really f$#%ed this up though. Trump going out and giving mixed messages is harmless during normal times but alternating between telling people top take it seriously and not talking it seriously means no one gets a firm message. The US is out of control now and they don't have the means to stop it

Bizarre take.
17 games gives the comp a level of credibility that it can’t achieve with 22 games.

Everyone plays one another once. No arguments over sides making/missing finals based on who they play twice

And the USA ****ed things up with their handling of the situation

I'd rather Australia takes note of how Taiwan and Singapore handled things because those countries have seriously restricted the impact of covid-19 and without the need for the whole country to go into lockdown

"In Taiwan, most residents carry on as normal, with offices and schools open. Many restaurants, gyms, and cafes in the capital, Taipei, are still bustling, although most premises will take temperatures and spray hands with sanitiser before allowing customers in."

They have less than 60 cases & 1 death - they are located 81 miles from mainland China and have a population of over 23 million

Maybe they are the ones we should be taking a better look at versus Trump & the USA

I don't think anyone is following the Seppos on this one anyway.I like the idea of the bolded, the club I was in yesterday has sanitizer dispensers every where not to many were using them unfortunately a good spray on the way in and a reminder that sanitizer station were located though out the club wouldn't hurt.

Maybe. Be we will probably follow the US cos we are a white anglo country.

Although there is also a big difference between us and Singapore. Singapore is on the equator and the disease thrives more in colder climates. We are now heading towards winter. singapore is in part saved due to geography.

More meaningful than 22. Those 5 extra games are contrived and never fair. I'd be happy with this to be the ongoing situation tbh. Many teams flounder in some of those last few games. Our more senior players would really benefit from a 17 round season, as would the really young recruits.

bullshit they are.

No schools are closed for the year.

A few weeks - absolutely. Dont make shit up. There is enough crap floating around right now without you having to add to it..

GO Catters

Critical path to execute that strategy is manufacturing adequate test kits locally. In the meantime we need to lock down what's out there already. So basically we need to do both

Its a bit f**ken late for that lol. The PM even went to the footy on the weekend.
We've actually done it worse than USA.
Does anyone actually know our policy??

Yes they did f*** it up. It will be devastating for their health system. But in some ways it could be better for their economy as they will get to herd immunity quicker. Although this new rule will now probably slow that down.

He didn't go to the NRL in the end - it was Friday night or Saturday morning (after his large gathering restriction announcement) that he said he actually wasn't going to go and watch the Sharks play

Maybe he was concerned about being in a large unnecessary gathering which is why he backed out from his original intention to go
