Tedesco was horrific but I did get them picking him last night. However right now NSW have lose 3 out of the last 4 Origins, feel it's time to make a change. Yeah everyone will say "but he's the captain, etc". Who cares get Cleary to captain might be the rocket he needs to perform for NSW consistently.
Not really relevant to my post at all but fair enough.

Least it's hopefully only 2 more games of the Fittler and Brandy disaster. One can't coach and one has no idea how to pick a team. Oh and at least I won money on QLD so that's something I guess. Paid for the whiskey I needed!

Actually don't feel NSW are far off but it's clear the spine is going to be an issue and will be for a few years. NSW don't have a Munster or a Grant, and they don't have a Walsh or Ponga. Have to say I was disappointed with Yeo last night too he was smashed by Carrigan.

There won't be many changes as we all know Fittler will chime in with the "it's only one game"

Lotta NSW chat.

More importantly was the Hammer a bit stiff for MOTM.

Also thought DCE and Walsh were superb.

Close but not for me. If it wasn't Cotter, it was Carrigan. Was one of the two, both were unbelievable. Hammer was very good but the QLD forwards won that game. Thought if they went for a back it was DCE who again outperformed Cleary.

Youll have a Mitchell and you had Turbo last night.

The issue for me isnt personel for NSW, you always have the better team on paper (although i honestly thought for the first time in ages that we looked as good on paper last night).

For me you were just outcoached and outplayed. Certainly make some changes and some will be forced through injury whatever but Teddy and Luai and probably Young would be it for me.

I'm the other way, doing the same thing is insanity. It won't work. Latrell at fullback MIGHT be the X factor you need. Get a fullback that sets his centres and wingers up. I'd be happy enough with Edwards but it's a gut feel more than anything, don't see him working at Origin level. The other bloke I'm considering and hear me out is Cody Walker and at 5/8. Get halves in that set up tries, let Cleary do the kicking.
Getting Edwards in is what I mean by getting the Penrith spine in.

No to Walker for me. He's no different to Luai in that he looks great in the Souths system but looks bloody ordinary in another one. It's basically a like for like and Luai played well enough to keep his spot last night.

Yeo was completely misused. I have no idea why Fittler is trying to get them to change the way they play at club level. Yeo is arguably the best lock in the game but Freddy is taking the ball out of his hands. Makes no sense.

Yeh i thought DCE was huge, Munster was bang average all night then found the fend to put Hammer away for his second and was there for the Collins speccy.

QLD won all the moments, the Cobbo second was ridiculous, beating two defenders and keeping his feet up inbound. Work of art.

The last thing NSW need is to Penrith ball even more. Walker deserves another chance close to the form half in the comp right now (him or Hynes). I do hope if NSW get flogged game 2 (which they probably do) they use game 3 to blood a few. Who cares if they get smoked game 3, it gives players a go that might be playing next series. Get Koroisau out of starting too, Cook has been the best 9 behind Grant this year.

Still rate Carrigan higher but it's one or the other. Also don't get why Murray is on the bench what a ridiculous idea this is.

That second try is the one I blame Tedesco the most, the last one, meh slipped happens, but that one he should have done way better.

Thought DCE was very good, Munster had an underrated gamed exactly what was needed and fed Hammer, etc the ball. He's actually a better footballer than he was 2-3 years ago where he would have run the ball endlessly and not looked to others.

The other player that had a good game is Murray Taulagi look I put my hand up and say I wouldn't have picked him on form but he was sensational

Completely disagree. Think you go entirely Penrith or you may as well drop Yeo/Luai and probably Cleary.

Either play to their strengths or get rid of them. Half assing it isn't working.

Yeh Talaugi was ridiculous and i thought he could be a defensive weakness, shows what i know.

For anyone interested the Roar had a great article about how Freddies gameplan played into Billys counter and why that really was the difference in the game.

Mostly what weve all been saying here (astute observers) about NSW only sticking to the middle and Queensland flipping the ball around.

Almost a league rope a dope.

Wouldn’t be against dropping Yeo if that’s the way they are using him it’s rubbish. Don’t need more Penrith players in the backline that’s struggling at best. It’s why I’d be considering Walker as he can create out of nothing. I do feel Penrith are great but it’s very robotic it’s not a surprise your Munster types are dangerous as they create when you are least expecting it. Too often with Cleary it’s 5 tackles Bomb it and repeat.

Could you PM me that Roar article would love to have a look mate.

Yeah Talagui was unbelievable saved 2 tries and it frustrated NSW he was massive

For me, it's either:

1 Edwards
6 Luai
7 Cleary
9 Api (with Cook off the bench instead of Hynes)
13 Yeo

or

1 Latrell
6 Walker
7 Cleary
9 Cook
13 Murray

I don't personally care either way (although I'd back that Panthers connection in one last time) but its time you actually maximise these connections.

Option 2 easily on form. Use the big Penrith forwards to get field position and let the backs go to work

You say on form like the Panthers spine aren't responsible for probably the most dominant period in the modern NRL...

If the coach actually tried to replicate what they're doing at the foot of the mountain, they'd be absolutely fine.

You sure it would work against a rep team in QLD?

Big step from club to origin.

If the Panthers squad played QLD, I honestly think they'd win 2 out of 3 games.

Just as a side note, that'd be an awesome game to watch haha
