* Clubs have been made aware that Andrew Dillon will take over from Gil when the latter eventually steps down.

* Other candidates such as Benny Gale have been informed they can apply to be 2IC to Dillon. They can then go for the top job in the future from inside AFL HQ. The AFL is keen to appoint people from within HQ.

Dillon is AFL Legal Counsel. Tribunal in the Patrick Cripps case was found to have not allowed procedural fairness/natural justice to Cripps and a truck was driven through their procedures by Cripps’ Legal Counsel. Tribunal procedures must be in Dillon’s portfolio.

Result: Cripps gets off an obvious offence meaning he collects 1 x Brownlow Medal. Dillon is naturally PROMOTED to AFL CEO.

Shaking my head in total belief here. Because what else would you ever have expected?

He’s be crazy to Groupie_ Firstly, Brendan Gale is better than two Andrew Dillon’s…And he’s also older, so he’d be waiting a while to get the gig (if he ever did)…His legacy is already complete at the Tigers, but why not make it off the charts…With probably less work, and more money….?
