I guess you're another North support "in the know"? $900 to $1.2 isn't a significant different and it's highly probable Gaff chose loyalty over $200 - $300k per annum.

Naitanui will likely receive a 50% decrease next year, McKenzie gone, Lycett gone, Lecras likely to be on minimum wage, Jetta likely to to receive a 50% discount on his new contract next year, Hurn likely to recieve a decent decrease and no out of contract stars next year.

The above plus Shuey, Yeo & Barrass signing for unders given their form/experience at signing suggests we're doing ok when it comes to the cap.
Yeah i dont mind if Lecras hangs around another year on minimum wage

So Joyce just confirming what most of us knew all along.
The ITK’s are full of it and at no stage did North believe they had secured Gaff or that he had agreed to join them and that Joyce himself believed Gaff would stay.

Welcome to media 101. There's the truth...and then there's the truth.

Amazing how naive some people are. Scary, but amazing.
Probably time the North supporters abusing Gaff apologise. Enough has been said by Joyce that it's clearly not "Media 101"

While some reports stated Gaff had given an indication that he had agreed to join the Kangaroos, Joyce’s gut feel was that he would remain with the premiers.

“I did,” said Joyce, on who received the call about Gaff’s decision.

“The longer it went, I thought in the three or four days leading up to that, I thought he would stay at West Coast.

“There’s been a few reports that we thought he was coming, but that’s not the case at all, he was very much undecided all the way through.

“In the days prior, I had a bit of a gut feel that he would stay.

“Once that final call, when the hammer comes down to make a decision, I thought, he was at a great footy club, a successful club and that he would stay.”

Again...of course he's going to say that. Liike i said in the post you originally quoted.

Gaff met ziebell and scott at Scott's house last Thursday. He told them he was coming. On Saturday he changed his mind

That’s not what you and other posters were saying. It was said he “lied” by telling North he was coming to them when he knew he wasn’t

What’s wrong with changing his mind, he’s more than entitled to until he’s signed on the dotted line

One helluva story for Joyce to concoct when there’s no need. Nothing wrong with “it’s a shame, it sounded like he was leaning to us but decided last minute to change his mind”

Classic.

Direct quotes from Gaff's manager are dismissed because of what may have been said at a meeting that may have happened.
Again a complete lack of logic shown by you. Of course Gaff's manager is going to say that. Why would he want to make his own client look bad? He gets paid to do the opposite.

Honestly brainless.

LOL.

If you don't believe Gaff's manager you don't believe him, no one cares.

Seems odd that you are so adamant that something said directly in the public sphere is false, but something allegedly said at a meeting that allegedly took place that you weren't at that isn't being reported is 100% true.

Stuff said in private is ALWAYS more reliable than media spin. I take it you also believe in what players say in interviews about upcoming games and post game. The Gaff-brayshaw incident for example. Every player will say they are over it and have no ill will towards Gaff etc. Before the bounce they will go straight for him. Scotland: "but you said on channel 7 you were over it!!!"

Seek help.

You: Gaff is joining North, done deal.
Gaff: I'm undecided
Gaff's manager: He's undecided
*Gaff re-signs with WC*
Gaff's manager: Like I said, undecided.
You: Lies! I was right all along! Jet fuel can't melt steel beams...

good logic.

I've heard that Gaff never had any intention of joining north, he just had it in for a kid called declan mountford and wanted to screw him over.

It'll never get reported of course, that's how true it is.

Of all the threads on Bigfooty this is still my favourite. It’s the gift that keeps giving!

I have a feeling that if it peters out and dies (because you know, the paperwork is lodged and there's not really anything to talk about) then someone resurrects it in 5 years' time that the same North fans will still argue black and blue that they were right.

It's been close to a week since the news broke and the melts haven't stopped, it's great

My favourite part is that Gaff definitively and 100% told the captain and coach at an alleged meeting, and nobody thought to pass that information on to North's GM. Seems weird they wouldn't give their boss a heads up that they'd signed an All-Australian.

Gaff - I was undecided
Gaff's manager - He was undecided
North's GM - He was undecided
BigFooty insiders - He'd decided, we know the truth.
