Sadly, the PAFC hieracy are now part of the problem also.
Supporters = uprising
PAFC = completely new people in, Port people who WE vote in.

I don't see what grounds the Crows could sue on because there are plenty of precedents for two teams using the same city name in the same league both in Australia and overseas. Melbourne Victory/Heart. Brisbane Broncos/Bombers (if they get in). LA Lakers/Clippers. New York Giants/Jets. The list goes on. Hell we even had the Adelaide Thunderbirds and Adelaide Ravens here at the same time!

That said WTF?! :eek:

Rucci seems obsessed with this rebranding issue. Didn't he sprout some crap about a 'Southern Jets' team some time ago?

Well, I'm no wordsmith, but then thats not the beauty of our club, we come from all backgrounds. This is what I just sent Kevin. Excuse me if it doesnt reflect the sentiments of everyone here, but its from my heart.

Dear Kevin.

I’m taking this opportunity to write you a short message out of sheer desperation. You no doubt understand the dire position that the Port Adelaide Football Club finds itself in. It is clear that the way forward must be vastly different from the path the club has travelled up until this point.

We cannot afford one bad decision, or it could lead to the ultimate demise of the club. The appointment of CEO is, in my opinion, the most important event in the history of the club, more important than the Adelaide Oval move.

This is where I believe that you could etch yourself into club immortality Kevin. We have seen how other high profile presidents have turned their clubs around against the odds, I have every confidence you will do the same. You could turn the Port Adelaide ship against the tide and be a hero to the thousands of Port Adelaide brothers and sisters, all waiting for the right man to come along and make a difference.

It’s unfortunate that the ordinary man such as myself does not have the skills or experience to tackle corporate vandals that our proud club faces daily. That’s where you can make such an impact, your political experience speaks for itself, you are a man that can save our beloved club.

Please Kevin, for the sake of all 36,000 desperate fans, please help, its got to the stage where we are on our knee’s now, and we need your help

I do like the PB and balck and white approach.

Plus I don't see how going to the game and turning our back on the players helps us and them bond, if anything they need our support more than ever!

But how many times does the club come out and deny this? Andrew Demetriou has spent the best part of the past few months assuring Port's future in the AFL.

Only 4 days ago in an article written by Michelangelo Rucci he yet again assured Port's future.

"Port Adelaide is a very, very important club in the 18-team competition," he said.

"The Adelaide Football Club also is an important component. Both clubs are probably not where they want to be on the field. They will bounce back.

"We believe in football in SA," added Demetriou, challenging South Australians to be less pessimistic.

"I wish people would stop talking their football down. I'm surprised by the negativity around the game and Port Adelaide and football in SA."

Does there come a point where the club doesn't respond because it does not want to give the issue any more oxygen?

This is quite common in politics let them rant and ignore and rebuttle continues the discussion and really what can be said.

Duncanson could come out and say "what Andy D said".

Gentlemen (and ladies), purely and simply this is a battle for survival, a fight to the death. Consider these quotes:

We are but a pawn in a larger game between the AFL and the SANFL, we may as well use our position to extract concessions.

Until we have our independence, and control over our destiny, we will never have our soul. The answer therefore is that we default and go into voluntary administration. We go nuclear. We force the AFL and the greater public to see what we have been forced into and show all that the SANFL is a mere parasite on the body of SA. We force this crisis out into the open and compel the AFL to not only act, but to strip the SANFL of our licence, thereby snookering them. We can then renegotiate our debt to a more sustainable level and start anew. We have nothing to lose but our paper chains...

We either go hard or we call it a day. It is better to die on your feet than to live on your knees.


PS By the way a good idea for a banner is a picture of a snake in the Port colours with the quote "dont tread on me"

Really got wild angry at the number of callers rining in to 5aa after the game saying we shouldnt turn up to the Bulldogs game...
What is that going to achive????

I bet these same people would bitch and complain if our club went down the drain due to lack of numbers at the game and cash....

Staggers me really how they can think bycotting the game is a good thing??
