Anthony Albanese - How long? -3-

No I just think its hilarious that you have blind loyalty to Albanese and the labor party and you think he is doing such an outstanding job.
I think it's hilarious that you keep making stuff up. Well, hilarious and sad.

You just can't wrap your head around the simple idea that a politician/party doesn't need to be doing a great job, to be better than an alternative.

Maybe leave the leafy inner suburbs and ask people in the mortgage belt areas how they are travelling? You do remeber old mate said everything would be alot easier under an Albanese government? In my 50 years I don't think I have encounted a more out of touch prime minister.
More vague gesturing.

Very short memory too.

Albanese cannot sell his message, and when he takes a stand it has ended badly for him. Eg the voice

I agree with this partly, they have not communicated well.

But what does this have to do with you not being able to understand that a lot of us think Albo/Labor are BETTER, though the gap isn't as big as I'd hoped, rather than perfect, great, outstanding etc?

So you don’t have a specific policy you are upset with?
You realise it was LNP that relaxed lending rules which allowed people to borrow more than they could afford.

Can you tell you personally all my bills have gone up and people are feeling the pinch over the last few years. I am lucky I am financially secure.
My bills, interest rates on my mortgage have gone up too.

What is your point?

If you attribute rising inflation rates simply to the government in power, then taking a quick look at a chart for the last 5 years would show that you should be blaming the Coalition more than Labor.

The cost of living crisis was going on when the government chose to focus it's energy at The Voice and hope global conditions changed such that they could ride it out. In the meantime they pumped GDP hard with new imported demand and government funded jobs in lieu of direct stimulus payments which has kept the money supply moving and scared the RBA from reducing the interest rate lest it watch inflation spike again.

The entire community has paid a collective extra fortune to keep the nation out of recession meanwhile our per capita recession goes on strong for what is it, two years now? Australian wealth is being bled for headlines.

That's why the ALP might be on the nose a bit. Not because it's entirely their fault, but when things are good politicians take the credit and when things go bad - they have to wear it too.

Remember, Australia votes OUT governments, not voting them in.

Michael Pascoe article last year:

Quoting an extract, but full article has more context:

"Peter Dutton has been getting away with a good line throughout the 22 years he has been in Parliament – that he was a police officer before becoming a politician.

No, he was a politician before, during and after his eight or nine active years in the Queensland Police Service."

(Note: Pascoe is equally dismissive of Dutton's "I was a cop" claim as Albanese's origin story as being significant, other than for their use for political purposes by both men.)
Very informative article.

Well, when you put it like that...

I think Albanese needed to move left. If he announced dental and mental health into Medicare or an expansion of public housing now, he'd rise in the polls. Being a neoliberal hasn't worked, it's time to be a social democrat again.

Yep and to do that he needs to increase taxes on multinationals that are raping our natural resources.

Is this the standard answer? Albo is doing a terrible job because the polls says so…
Do you have a brain? Can you form you own opinion?

What specific policies do you think the Labor party has failed in?
My advice is put the barracker on ignore. Less rhetorical substance than a scratched record.

Please let Albo do that.
A certain vote LOSER.

Honestly, where do you think the money will come from to pay for that?
Australia is already deep in debt and everyone knows it. Putting more items on the taxpayer funded credit card is not going to win voters - it will only highlight how irresponsible Labor are with money.

I assume you support the AUKUS submarines though?

No issues finding that money.

So don't fund mental health and dental through Medicare? But vote for the guy who wants to spend billions on nuclear reactors?

The debt that you're decrying is mostly the responsibility of the opposition when they were in government. Maybe you can point me to some of your posts criticising Frydo and Morrison spending like drunken sailors on shore leave.

You could only view Labor as irresponsible with money versus the Coalition, despite this actually being on something useful, if you had your eyes and ears shut during the last Coalition government.

The response to this being point out will be a whine about an echo chamber.

All I am saying is that there is no money left to fund both dental and mental health under Medicare. Everyone knows it and if Albo went to an election with it he would have to advise how they would be funded. Then it would definitely be all over for him

Monies for these things don't come out of thin air.

PS: if it was so easy, don't you think governments would have proposed this a long time ago?
