A couple of years ago he stayed to put the club first, and now he is going for the same reason. In his announcement he thanked the club for the opportunities he got - but any debt has been well and truly repaid. All the best, Stevo.

Been a great player. The Roos will miss him but it was time for him to go. Would not surprise me in the slightest for the Roos to pull out something special on the weekend for this inspirational player.

Anthony Stevens is a very good ordinary footballer, who made the most of his opportunities, faced adversity and overcame it. He's not the lone ranger. As a footballer, he's in the class of a Paul Licuria - are you going to tell me he's a legend and a great?
