He’s 191Agree on the set shot. As for his marking, I’ve not noticed this as an issue. He’s not a leaping player but as a full time mid, that’s not his role. He catches it fine.

Pendles is not a crap mark. In the general field of play, where he is usually stationed, or in transition, he is very good with safe hands.
He isn't the other players mentioned.
He isn't a forward and never has been.
He is a legend and pure silk at what he does.
Over 300 games and counting.
At least 85% of them are in the bank as best players on the day (my opinion without research)
Geez
Give it a rest
He’s got at least two seasons left, maybe more.A little bit of perspective. Pendles greatest 2 flaws have been his aerial contest and converting set shots from the left hand side. He slices and misses to the near side quite often. His over head aerial is simply terrible but very rarely is it required and elite traits more than compensate. Also worth noting that when his time is up as an inside mid there won’t be a forward or defender role he can slot back into. Simply can’t play those roles. Still playing great footy but the end isn’t that far away. Absolute legend of the game and he has had an amazing career! I have loved watching him for the last 15 years.
Acknowledge yes as you have done but not harp on it as others have, some people find a loose thread in their new sweater and they simply can't resist picking at it until the entire sweater is unraveled. No player is perfect. It is possible to both acknowledge his weaknesses and the fact he has been an obsolete gun. They are not mutually exclusive.
Pendlebury doesn't rely on either speed or leap which are the two athletic attributes to fade first with advancing footy years. He’s got at least two seasons left, maybe more.
In another video Pendles also misses a simple mark, so what does that mean? To me it means that everyone that plays AFL makes mistakes, its all part of a game that is played with an oval ball, at frenetic pace, that is played under fatigue and extreme pressure. Watch Rugby players drop a pass or soccer players miss penalties or NFL players throw a bad pass, so what, get over it.
Literally nobody has harped on about it. The only reason the conversation has got this far is because you jumped in and started having a go at sr36 for daring to point out Pendles’ flaws.Acknowledge yes as you have done but not harp on it as others have, some people find a loose thread in their new sweater and they simply can't resist picking at it until the entire sweater is unraveled.
Interesting to see Madge in there. Sounds as if the club knows he needs to find a new position with Howe returning and Murphy in the wings if he doesn’t want to become perennial depth.Match sim
Some interesting match ups in the middle
Black: Pendles / JDG / Sidey / Adams / Grundy
Blue: Macrae / Bear / Magden / Reef / Cameron
Might be, ApexInteresting to see Madge in there. Sounds as if the club knows he needs to find a new position with Howe returning and Murphy in the wings if he doesn’t want to become perennial depth.

McMahon, even if he doesn’t touch it again today, has shown great traits - hoping we’ve found one here
- smart / strong / fast lead against Moore for mark + goal
- lead up pack mark
- front position to help out on the ground at CHF
Edit: I love this type of forward rather than the ones that constantly call for it over the back...already seen it a couple times today w other forwards and it has made it so much easier for defenders
Have watched him several times and the best thing is that he appears to be an intelligent footballer, in that he understands that he is not as strong as senior players, so keeps moving and leading. That and the fact that he marks it at its highest point, often on a strong lead, makes me think that he will make it. Could even get a game or two this year as a third tall or on a wing but only if we learn to play with fast movement to an open forward line.Might just be some January match sim but a first year draftee KPF leading and marking against AA CHB is an encouraging sign.
As you said may not do much else and Darce may give him a hiding but glimpses like that is all you want to see from kids like that.

Hoping and praying we’ve picked up the Vic tall forward who would have rocketed up the board without COVID happening.Might just be some January match sim but a first year draftee KPF leading and marking against AA CHB is an encouraging sign.

That would be very sweet indeed.Hoping and praying we’ve picked up the Vic tall forward who would have rocketed up the board without COVID happening.

Perhaps the club wants to rack up some early injuries like rolled ankles, twisted knees or ACL/PCLs. A tennis ball underfoot could easily cause a foot or leg injury. What's the point of the tennis balls?
Still doesn't make him a powerful marker and that's what the discussion was about. I think anyone who has watched him play knows his skills in other areas, so there is hardly any need to balance a mildly negative observation with positive references to his obvious strengths.SR some balance please with your remarks, as PE has indicated silk is silk.
Every time you think of Penders less than immense marking prowess watch a replay of the '10 GF replay - that pass to a running Sidearse with barely a flick of a glance, allowing Sidey to run on to it is CLASS - pure, unadulterated class - and that is far from the best he has produced.
