It doesn't matter how many U18 boys you have the fact is they'll go off and play TAC not school footy. This is the reason why goddard, judd and walker hardly played for Caulfield and why caulfield havn't won for the last 5 years

sorry milnedog you are very incorrect there....school takes precedence over TAC
Goddard played school throughout year 10 and 11 but year 12 being on st k's list played for them
Judd always played for school except when injured (shoulders)
With Walker not being on scholarship, he was not tied down to play for them
Also think back to Ball, when coming back from OP (i think) he played for Xavier not Dragons

year 10 and 11 of course school takes priority thats a no brainer but many players who don't go to a good footy school thats in the APS rather play tAC how do you think there are people playing in the TAC if everyone is playing school footy moron

balls a different case all together he was a very school orientated person and takes a lot of pride in playing for school where as these other guys have been bought and have only been at the school for a year. Also bally said he would always play school footy over even AFL

Paul Hood is coach of St Joeys first 18 this year in Herald Shield. He's a good coach and was a good player, won the TAC cup league b & f in 1995, should of got drafted but was too small

yeah ive been training with him, real big kid at least 190 i would say, still quite lean without being skinny, very fast and agile, great pack mark and has a good leap, good kick, apparently better than chris at the same age.

i would say probably this year he will play FF but could very easily play CHF aswell. In the ruck we have john shaw who is year 11 and in the dragons 18's side and then josh kennedy who will fill CHB. After this year there may be problems in finding some tall backs.

Players in the TAC cup have to sign a 'contract' so to speak that says school footy always takes priority over TAC footy. The players who go to APS schools only play TAC at the start and end of the year when school footy is not on.

What a joke about Haileybury, bring in the scholarships and try to win the APS. If they win, which this list suggests they should, it should not constitute a proper premiership. Every school brings in players, there's no doubting that but not to the extent that Haileybury has.

I think for Scotch there's Nick Smith, Andrew Ainger, Nathan Djurkurra, and Ed Barlow all at the Charges.

melbourne grammar will be playing their first full season on the awesome todd rd oval. beautiful surface but very strong wind at one end.

which are the best APS grounds to play on do u think?

The Front Turf at Wesley St Kilda Rd is a beautiful ground with a great surface. Scotch is excellent too. The best post-match functions were always at Xavier and Melbourne.

Geelong College have Banjanin (201cm), Rockerfeller, Cordy and Turner from Falcons with more depth than ever. Word is they will do better than everyone expects.
