How many Premierships when bryle cream and pin-stripe suits were the norm? just like I thought alot :p

where as conversely, Hawks have at least one flag every decade since the 60's....so good luck with your trolling :thumbsu:

Its called a troll when some opposition supporter wants to jump on here and demean a Premiership of another club, THATS called trolling.

How many Premierships have Collingwood FC won? 14? or 1?

Its as simple as that. If you want to say one in 50 years again, it shows how pathetic you are. As far as the history of AFL/VFL goes, Collingwood has won 14 Premierships, and thats 4 more than Hawthorn.

Dees would have won if Ball was playing.

The Dees ability to take a turnover and run it back through the middle was outstanding.

;)

Ahhhh I see what you did there ;)

Really missed Bally out there today; his clearance work and desperation would have been invaluable.

It's not all bad though, played 1 man down for 2 1/2 quarters, and still have Didak/Ball/Dawes (or Anthony) to come back in. And we had to carry Josh Fraser; like starting 1 man down nowdays

Are Collingwood that good?
Yes?
Are Collingwood that good that they'll beat Geelong and/or Saints in the finals?
Probably not yet.

Biggest issue for mine was playing around the boundaries, and forward leading to the pockets. Sure, inside 50 marks are nice, but who cares if it's on a 60 degree angle?

Did you fail at the school of 'I have nothing particularly profound to offer so I am going to juke the stats to suit my bias' school or something?!

If a man (or woman) can't selectively quote long since passed historical results in place of articulating a relevant opinion that supports their bias, what can they do?

That draw put us in 2nd spot and will come back to haunt you in the finals, that seems like a loss to me.
PS Enjoyed Dales turnovers today ;)

So it put you "temporarily" into second spot for a few days.

You do realise it is a likely scenario that if you lose (and you probably will) to Geelong and we beat Sydney next week (a side we have a very good record against), your second spot standing is short-lived and then we go 2 points clear- in essence- a win clear of you?

Round 22 is still a long way away before anything is officially sewn up. Also, there is no difference at the end of round 22 if we finish 2nd or 3rd because if the ladder stays as it is, we would be playing the same opposition at the same ground. Freo finishing 1-2 is the only chance of having a non-Melb qualifying final in week 1 of the finals, which may eventuate- who knows.

Huh?

Be realistic puppet. I don't think he was having a go at Watts just saying that Watts with his output to forward pressure ratio can be a negative. Probably with 6 marks, a goal and a beautiful goal assist he wasn't really a negative today, but certainly having 3 of him in one forward line would be a disaster.

Yep, Watts might end up being a champion player, but if you had 3 of him on the squad today you would have lost because atm his output is limited and it would have taken 2 other better contributors (at the moment) from the game.

It is also what I meant about when we played Hale, I don't think he is a bad player but in the role he is being played his output just doesn't warrant a spot in the side, just the ability to win contests and influence a match is very limited.

I don't think Brown, Fraser or Cloke influence enough contests and enough games to warrant a spot in the side.

We look forward to belting you again in round 22. We might not be a top 2 side, but we're certainly better than you. :)
Nah, it'll be the same story as the past couple of years. Franklin comes in, Collingwood shit themselves, Franklin kicks 6-8 goals, Hawthorn win by 39+ points. You're not better then us, you just caught us in our worst rot in the last 5 years.

Maybe beat a good team instead of bottom 4 teams and start talking to us. Arrogant ****s
Atleast we win premierships when we're in the top 4.

Ten times easier to win a premiership pre 1960 then post 1960.

Anyways, Collingwood aren't good enough to win the premiership.

St. Kilda and Geelong are way ahead of the pack at the moment.

Fremantle are a good side but seem incapable of challenging St. Kilda and Geelong.

Carlton's side aren't ready to win a premiership at the present, but their club is more then capable of winning a premiership when they have a chance unlike clubs like Collingwood, Bulldogs, St. Kilda, etc.

Just don't see St. Kilda winning a flag - it seems inevitable that it's never going to happen. SO unless Hawthorn make a massive resurgence up the ladder, I don't think any other team will beat Geelong but will probably be a Geelong vs St. Kilda again.

I don't think Brown, Fraser or Cloke influence enough contests and enough games to warrant a spot in the side.

Correct on two of them but the Cloke bashing there is unwarranted.

He has been very good this year for us and if you watched today, he influences many contests with some very good strong contested grabs.

We just need to find him someone that can help him out because if he isn't the target inside 50 and he has to go and get the ball 70-80m out from goal, there is a lack of big man power inside 50 at the moment and Leroy ain't going to cut it.

One of Jack or Dawes needs to be played consistently with Cloke.

Re: How Can Colingwood be Considered Premiership Contenders?

It is Dane Swan then daylight in that team.

Collingwood will not be a serious threat whilst Davis, Didak, Medhurst are all in the same team. That is too much softness for any team to carry.

You are a moron. Have you watched alan didak at all this year?

Yes we are better than you. You are clearly the most overrated team in the comp because you had one good year. stop livning in the past. Hawthorn are barely a top eight team.

We've flogged you 4 out of the last 5 times we're played you and we've won a premiership in the last 2 years, we're on a 5 game winning streak and our key forward constantly demolishes your team every time he plays against them. Overrated would be being in the top 4 and being incapable of defeating a team that has won the wooden spoon the past couple of years.

Referring back to 2008 is hardly living in the past, referring to your premierships won pre 1960 is referring to the past. Hardly overrated because atleast we're capable of winning a premiership, an asset that the Collingwood football club of the past 50 years is not often accustomed to.

Loving it how the Hawks string a few wins against Richmond etc and they think there 'back'. Long Way to go Hawthorn. You keep talking about 08 but that is Long gone, beat a top 4 team now and then you can pump your chest out. Its funny reading posts on here from your supporters thinking you can win the premiership, least we can make the finals champ. You luckily beat Geelong in 08 that is all. Nothing since then.

I thought not that long ago that Swan wasn't any good according to all the learned opposition pontificates?

I have to admit, I wasn't a fan last year, thought he was slow and a bit of a plodder.

But I have watched more of him (and Collingwood) this year and have to say I was wrong. He is a much better player than I had given him credit for.

it is a shame, that there is a very strong likelyhood he will never play in a flag at Collingwood..
