Are Freo Going To Get Royally Screwed AGAIN This Week

well the person in your avatar (clive waterhouse for those who cbf scrolling up and looking) wanted to be traded home to Port Adelaide years back to be with his sick and dying father, and freo refused to trade him.

So what goes around comes around in my book
Crap.

Clive re-signed with us at that time. Freo made sure he could still see his dad as part of his deal.

Carr's a dog and Port will get their's.

Actually, this is you getting yours for working on Carr all season long to get him from us in the first palce. Similar for Schoey and Francis. Maybe its time for your mob to quit trying to **** us, it never seems to work out for you.

How many picks can a team have in the draft (not including the PSD, rookie draft etc) - just the national draft. I know Port used 7 a couple of years ago... Rodan would have been pick 103 in the 7th round but for all the other teams passing.

1. Is there a maximum number of rounds the draft can go?
2. Is there a maximum number of picks a team can have (ie hypothetically, could a team trade for 10 draft picks in the first 4 rounds and use them all)?

You can have as many as you have got room for.

So if you delist ur entire list you can have 38 picks in the draft. The only thing is 32 or so will be the last 32 picked.

Once every other team has passed you can just keep picking.

And whatever ones u trade for u can use. If you can get the top 20 picks u can use them all. But u must have room on your list of course.

Freo need to make a stand this week.

If it means losing in the short term to make a statement to the rest of the league then so be it.

Don't let Carlton shaft you!

That is the stupidest thing i have ever heard, hows losing a early pick in the last unaffected draft making a stand.

You guys have a short memory, you done the dirty back in 2005 getting Jarrod Schofield. His father even told North Melbourne if they drafted him in the PSD he would retire,so its pay back time pal:D. The Port Adelaide midfielder's move to Fremantle has sparked an AFL draft-tampering investigation.
Fremantle recruit Jarrad Schofield faces a $50,000 fine and his career is in jeopardy after the AFL yesterday launched an investigation into claims he had tampered with Tuesday's pre-season draft.
AFL investigations officer Ken Wood has been instructed to review Schofield's drafting. Schofield, asked on Tuesday whether he had told other clubs he would retire if drafted by a club other than Fremantle, said: "I left that to my manager."
Ron Joseph, Schofield's manager, did not return calls last night.
Schofield's father, Neil, contacted Kangaroos coach Dean Laidley to say Schofield would retire if picked by the Roos. The Roos had a pick before Fremantle and chose Lance Picioane.

If I was a Port fan I would be very careful for getting what you wish for...though if it is PSD no great risk.

When I saw him play this year I just could not believe how slow he now is and the fact that he was just incapable of winning his own ball.

Slow, short and ill disciplined is how he came across and I must admit when I heard Mundy, Warnock and Carr were waivering - well I was wrapped to keep Mundy, sad to lose Warnock and actually reasonably happy Carr was going.

The Carr we got in 2005, 2006 and 2007 was pretty good ...very hard at it and brought a real physical dimension to our mids.

The Carr of 2008 sucked and lets face it every team needs a hard at it stopper - we have Crowley who is better across the board.

Carr lowest number of kicks since 2000, lowest disposals/lowest number of marks since 2002 and didn't poll a Brownlow vote for the first time in 5 seasons.

I know Freo had a poor season but for someone who ran around in the midfield but for our team...ranking 18th in kicks, beaten in clearances by Palmer, Sandilands, Warnock, Pavlich & Bell, ranked 18th for going inside 50's etc ...anyway you get my drift he had a very bad season.

Plus the way he reacted to being told to stop the ill discipline and dog acts ...well any 10 year old would be proud of that.

Yep. They simply cannot afford too. They are paying for years of incompetence. They can enjoy their consecutive picks in the 60's.

I don't think McIntosh will be traded. I'd want a top 5 and top 10 pick for him as a bare minimum and I don't see clubs willing to part with that. We aren't shopping him around, someone else is interested in him so he would come at a fairly high premium.

A top 5 and top 10 pick:eek:, for a extra 50 cents you can supersize that:rolleyes:

a) he hasn't asked to leave
b) he is contracted
c) he just turned 24 in September, very young for a ruckman.
d) he was AA quality at 23, injury and a restricted pre-season holding him back this year.
e) was a pick 9 in 2002
f) IS still one of the best young ruckmen in the AFL.
g) can ruck, play forward and get possessions like a midfielder.

Why would we trade him for anything less?

you're allowed to sell to more than one person in real estate tho...

You will still only get what the highest bidder offers. Judd chose Carlton for several reasons, one of those reasons being the club's ability to offer a fair trade deal. #1 draft picks are always going to be off limits nowadays, so no matter how good the player who is seeking a trade is, the marketplace will still determine the true value. Judd & Pick 46 was deemed to be worth Pick 3, Pick 20 & Josh Kennedy.

Hold up..

Allot of posters have claimed that Warnock is worth less than pick 24....We have asked for more but you could presume that is the bare minimum we will get...

Warnock > Seaby

J Carr's career is over, most supporters dislike what he has done but realise his value is very little.

We are not trading our first pick...

Where are we getting screwed???

Pick 3 and Warnock for Pick 1 is screwed, but haven't seen anyone one from our club even hint at the idea we are entertaining that.
According to the West Perth selectors it appears that Seaby > Warnock.

Maybe Warnock has more potential, but then maybe you should go:

Warnock > Seaby (if Warnock fulfills his "potential" and Seaby doesn't step up when given 1st ruck duties)

Freo are getting theirs for only offering us Dion Woods or Antoni Grover in the trade deal for Carr when we wanted Byron Schammer.

You got our first, second and third round picks. Wasn't that fair enough?

You drafted duds with those picks. Not our fault. Live with it.

just because carlton was the highest bidder out of *1* doesnt mean that they didnt rip wce off. if i was the only bidder for a house on the beach at cottesloe and they had to accept my offer, me handing over $500 and a 2nd hand barbeque wouldnt make the value of that property 4/5 of f*ck all now would it? no, it would still be worth millions and i would have screwed them harder than a stallion on viagra
