Geelong always seems to have a good balance of youth and veterans. Looked good against the Bombers and could easily be the best of rest, excluding Carlton and Sydney.

Feels like 2016-2021 where we could pinch a flag if everything goes right, but realistic finish is top 4 and preliminary final.

Last week we sucked and people would point to our top 8 record being poor.

It’s amazing what a win against Essendon can do.

Wins against top 8 sides mean very little when the team in 3rd is only 2 wins above the team in 13th.

Geelong have made some good changes to how they play over the last few weeks which is encouraging.

I'm not convinced it will really stack up to finals pressure - Essendon and Hawthorn were pretty ordinary in that regard to be honest.

The one thing they will have is genuine belief if things start to click.

The ones that might trouble them are Brisbane in QLD, or Collingwood with a fit team.

In either case (top 4 or a win in an Elimination final) I suspect they will make it to the Semis, but probably not further than that.

If Geelong could hold off most other clubs in the 5-8 bracket, wouldn't a top 4 ladder finish make a PF likely as they would face one of them in the SF?

I don't think Geelong will make the grand final but have no idea whether we'll get knocked out in weeks 1, 2 or 3 of the finals if we make it.

Making it to the SF from 5th-6th or the PF from 3rd-4th are the two most likely scenarios if we finish the H&A season strongly.
