Richmond lost the last game of 2016 to the Swans by 113 points. Not exactly the same as losing by 100 points in the year they won a flag but they're done, they lost to us yesterday ffs, so its more case of that poster desperately trying to remind us they were once a good side.

Collingwood lost to Hawthorn by 80 plus points in 1990 at Round 20. Although they were coming off a top of the table clash with Essendon the week before with both teams losing the following week. They then backed it up to finish the year with 2 80 plus point thrashings of there own.

The worry with Sydney isn't just this loss but there record the last 6 weeks. They had a few close losses that could've gone either way and a big win but now have 2 floggings in 2 weeks. Friday night will be a big indicator on whether they can move on quickly from this.

Issue are fairly simple to me.

• They are trying to fit Parker/Mills in who are 100% done as footballers for Sydney.
• Drop off from Grundy who needs a rest/struggles to play out a full season with his style anyway
• The complete idiocy of having Matt Roberts as some form of quarterback instead of Blakey whose game has gone to custard since Roberts came in
• Heeney/Warner drinking too much bath water and not running both ways/winning the first ball (Heeney mainly though)
• Insane lack of depth in the back 6. They have 6 AFL quality defenders and thats it. Second you bring Fox/Francis into the mix and everyone else falls away because of it

Sydney are not done for 2024 yet, but in a way the last 4 weeks have been a great way of exposing their needs for 2025. In 2025 they need to

• Find a lockdown small defender of some sort to free up Blakey
• Move Mills and Parker on, free some salary cap space and look for a more suited player. They are the ideal candidate to move these salaries on and try for Barass one more time also

The big boy move to make though is to move on Mills and Parker. Doing this will be the catalyst for keeping Chad Warner
