I saw it early too but again but you have to win a final or two, then a flag in order to really be talked about as a dynasty.
Cripps, McGovern, Saad, Docherty, Newman are all about to hit their 30's so while some of them are replaceable, others certainly aren't and a dynasty often has an average age between 24-25 years.

Realistically, Carlton should have been playing finals 2 years ago. They've wasted some years and it would have been absolutely catastrophic had they failed again this season.
Cripps is 28. So Saad 29 & Mcgovern turns 29 in November.
Newman and Doc is turning 30 November. They are the oldest in our best 22.

Problems will arise because there's a group of players being paid way too much.
They are Martin, McGovern, Cerra, Saad, DeKoning, Weitering and Cripps.
Paper bags won't help you with that.
Martin will be in the last year of a heavily front loaded deal next year ($3m over 5 years, with close to $2m in the first 2 years). He's literally on peanuts now (like below AFL average).
Gov's deal ends this year and has started negotiating his new contract, which will be well blow his previous.
Cerra is getting less than what Freo offered him to stay (likely around $600k). Saad on similar ($600-650k). TDK reportedly knocked back bigger deals, so also probably around mid 600s.
Weitering and Cripps would be on the most obviously ($800-900k), but both locked in (Cripps to end of 2027, Weiters to end of 2025).

Not sure you've got a very good handle on this.

Your salary cap is maxed out and you need more depth.

True BUT Walsh Cerra Kemp Weitering Acres TDK McKay Charlie Boyd Owies Cincotta Silvagni Kennedy Hewett Pittonet are all in their prime or coming into it

Coming through is Hollands Binns Cowan Lemmey O'Keefe Carroll Motlop Durdin O'Keefe

Now need to keep adding to this group over next 1-3 years

Martin & McGovern now being paid bugger all
Cerra on solid money but not high
TDK only on solid money for 2 years
Salary Cap will increase a lot in next 1-2 years.

It's not close to the issue people make it out to be and Cook won't allow it to be an issue again

You're only proving my point.
Our cap isn't maxed. It's tight, but all our best players are locked in. When minimum TPP floor is set at 95%, EVERY club is 1-2 decent contracts away from having salary cap issues.
These are our uncontracted players who have yet to sign. Nobody will be attracting big money and not all will be offered deals.

As for depth, we currently have 10 players on our injury list, during an 8 game winning streak, which includes wins against 3 top 4 sides.
I would say 6 of those are walk up best 22 (Walsh, Cerra, McKay, Gov, Kennedy, Williams) and another two would be considered fringe best 22 (best 26 - Silvagni, Durdin).
In the Dees game, we had the following:
Fisher - only played 10 games this year because he wasn't deemed best 22
Dow - only played 12 games in the last 2 years
Kemp - only played 19 career games
Fogarty - 11 games in last 2 years
Martin - 32 games in last 3 years
Cuningham - only been able to play 49 games in an 8 year career
Cottrell - only played 12 out of 21 games this year
Cincotta - played 14 games as a VFL recruit
Marchbank - only managed 55 games over a 9 year career and only played 7 in the last 4 years
Hollands - 15 games in his 1st year as a 19yo
Motlop - already played 29 games in his 2nd year and 19yo

Also got:
18yo Cowan who has played 7 senior games this year
20yo Carroll who is developing in the VFL and only played 6 games in 3 seasons due to a fairly strong midfield group (averaging 24 disposals)
21yo Durdin who has played 33 games over 3 seasons, including 21 last year (been injured a lot this year)
18yo Binns who is virtually one of the best on ground every week in the VFL and screaming for a debut but nowhere to fit him in (averaging over 29 disposals)
24yo Boyd, who is another VFL pick up and had virtually made himself a permanent spot in the back pocket and just came back in the VFL from a 3 week suspension and was probably one of our best in a win against Casey

The game against the Dees was the first time we had named an unchanged side in 3 years.

Serious The Four GIF by Diddy

So many Carlton supporters on here seem to be in a permanent state of depression after 20+ years of mediocrity.

Snap out of it and enjoy the moment. We have ******* arrived.
You don't go from burning the place down to dynasty mate. We haven't even made finals. The thought of potentially been a contender this year is scary enough.

Remember that 2 weeks ago, Collingwood in the midst of their dynasty.

You can enjoy what we have without complete losing the plot.

You do you. I'll do me.

I can only imagine which one of us has more fun.

As well as they are playing it will be a tough one to be winning from 5th, if we stay there. Saw the best 2 sides on form Saturday night I won't get excited about anything unless we are in a PF. Tough task getting there though from the EF.
