Ash has shown ability/talent in some skills. If you narrow it down its like a dozen or less moments. What he hasn't shown is obvious. What surprises me is how many posters believe what he hasn't shown is a product of work ethic. That attitude shows little respect for what the totality of an AFL player represents. We all wanted those glimpse to be a constant: they aren't and won't. Let's celebrate his success for making the journey, an amazing talent.

One thing that you're known for, noidea, is your clarity of thought...at least for last season.

Have you cleared this new rule with Kappa yet?

Kappa is fine. Can be hyperbolic with his criticism, but at least he doesn't go into victim mode when he then gets criticised for his criticism. That's what shit's me

A: Johnson's pathetic

B: I think you're pathetic

A: How dare you get personal like that, I'm always targetted for my honest appraisals. Poor me. I'm just calling it how I see it.

No wonder he's struggling. Could you get out of his shoes FFS? It's cost us games and might cost Ash his career.

You're like a redback spider.

I tell you they’re cramped, man! If it was a simple matter getting out of his shoes, I would have done it by now.

I blame all those people who told me I needed to put myself in his shoes in the first place.

Has sublime skills and always thought he’d take the best mark we have ever seen one day, but sorry, he blew his chances on Friday.

He had a poor game, missed marks he should be taking, looked disinterested and his defensive work was almost non-existent. Hopefully it's an anomaly because he has a real chance to cement his place in the side if he can get his arse into gear.
I'm hoping they bring in Kreuger and we play Howe forward, giving us Kreuger, Howe and Ash as marking targets. I think that gives Ash the best chance to succeed, because he's not a no.1 forward. Also means Frampton can move back to the defensive 50, where he's been fantastic this year.

You forget Reef will be available. So Ash had a awkward time to have a bad game.
They'll prob bring in Kreuger and Reef, WHE can play forward too

Actually, AJ was not a total passenger in the Bulldogs game. When he played further up the ground, he got more involved and looked more attacking/confident than when locked in closer to the goals. He was a vital link in the chain of possessions which led to a goal from Bobby.
If there's a big bodied forward like Checkers or Kreuger in the full forward position, he could still be useful as a roaming tall (ish) forward? I remember from his initial games from way back that he always played better with Checkers there to do the heavier work. He has a light frame and maybe could do better on a forward flank?

The problem with AJ is highlighted by almost everyone on this board.... he needs others in the team to allow him to shine. If you can't win your own ball and make an impact, irrespective of who's in the team, then you are baggage, at best.
