Sorry for your loss so is mine and my oldest brother.
Don't be sorry.

My dad was the absolute scum of the earth and I hope and pray I am nothing like him.

Sorry to hear that you've lost both your dad and your oldest brother though.

My father was no saint either very selfish man but my brother was a good bloke with mental issues unfortunately, bipolar.

My old man passed away, too, day before he turned 51. He was a good man, had some attitudes I may not have agreed with (Boomer-Millennial divide, I suppose), but life didn't treat him well. We were close when I was growing up, but then I became a bit of a shit towards him. Took him dying to make me a better person.

I have bipolar too. I feel for your brother.

As long as I take my loopy pills every day I'm fine though.

Just be careful how many you take and when you take them sweetie, my brother took strong pills for his bipolar which destroyed his kidney's that eventually killed him.

I'm really sorry to hear that. It's horrible when you're pretty much damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I don't know if mine are super strong, but I get a blood test every 6 months or so much to check all my levels. Pretty much have to go to the G.P every 3 months for some sort of check up.

That's good news, i hope you can beat it eventually.

I suppose if you equate supporting a football team with a mental illness that no one chooses and people take their lives from I'd rather have bipolar then be that kind of person.

I am sincerely sorry that you feel personally aggrieved by AG's comment, I honestly felt he was taking the piss out of your football club and your supporters (who to be fair, have a reputation of being Cray cray)

I honestly didn't believe it was a pot shot at you and your Bipolar diagnosis, if it was, I am very disappointed with AG (one of my favourite Carlton supporters on the Bay)

I certainly am guilty of posting thoughtless/insensitive crap here over time I thought was funny but many others didn't (I have Aspergers)

Especially when drinking (I am an alcoholic, have a problem with booze, I have to be honest here) my common sense filters can sometimes go through the proper scooper.

I realise though that this may have hit a sore spot with you though but as I say, I honestly don't believe he meant to take the piss out fo your condition but more being a Richmond supporter !

Maybe he wasn't intentionally. I don't care about being BiPolar, it's just a part of me that I live with. I take the piss out of myself for being loopy all the time. Lol. What can I do, you gotta play the cards you were dealt.
I don't have any personal issue with AG or what he says. I probably get more upset with people attacking the tiges then my mental ness lol

But there may be other people struggling with mental health who feel like it's a weakness. Stuff like that can make people who are struggling feel like they are a failure. Especially people who don't know how to open up about it because they are scared that they will be ridiculed.

Yeah this. Humour is a coping mechanism. The humour was footy based not mental health based. If we're going to be touchy people could be touchy at the act of calling them loopy pills. I am sure a decent cross section of people on medication pills would get genuinely upset at saying their meds are 'loopy pills'.

Yeah, I thought you were equating mental health to footy teams so I fd up.

That's the problem with text based forums, the body language part is missing.
I'm sorry man.
