We don't know the reason he was removed. Perhaps he was a poor manager? He would have had many other duties and responsibilities that are not seen by the public.

A fair question to ask, but am certain he was doing a great job. He wasn't fired, he was made redundant.

I'm curious what your expectations actually are?

I have 15 mins this morning and had a quick look and was shocked to find 150+ posts to Lions facebook (average of 2.5 per day), a couple of dozen to instagram (I imagine there have been dozens of stories on instagram during that time, there have also been 66 articles on lions.com.au. That doesn't include the couple of dozen articles that have appears across all the major papers which the club would have been involved in arranging.

All these since the start of December as even a the most demanding person would think that's a pretty decent effort
100% agree with you re articles and insta Posts. My issue is with interviews etc on radio shows and other platforms.
the club has an audioBoom channel for these which was brilliant for us down in Victoria who don’t get qld radio etc. until half way through last season when content severely dropped away. This year so far there is absolutely nothing.
There has been at least 15-20 different interviews done and nothing uploaded. The ones that I have been able to find I’ve uploaded here in podcasts page.
it wasn’t that hard to do it took all of 5 minutes. So why can’t the media people at the club do that ?? They WERE doing a great job of keeping us up to date.
It’s what every other club does so imo they need to pick up there act. It shouldn’t be up to the fans to do there job for them.

It’s not just the uploading of interview content that has dropped off, it’s also the quality of social media content coming out of the club.

Sure there’s still articles and photos being put on FB & Twitter, but the engagement with the fans has dropped off, such as no more Lions_Insider presence here.

The “cool” and “fun” content has disappeared. Who remembers last years Fixture video that trolled the other clubs? Compared to this years Fixture video.

I was hoping to see more like the 24-25k membership numbers by now. It has really dropped off and I wonder if it has anything to do with the drop off in fan engagement. Because let’s face it, no matter what some say, the media department really has dropped the ball.

All I'm seeing is that some people whinge too much. Have you seen the pre-season vlogs from Tasmania? Thought they were absolutely outstanding, and much better than last year.
Your right vlog videos were brilliant. I think Josie fielding had a lot to do with those. She does a great job that for sure. But that isn’t what my gripe is.

no more @Lions_Insider presence here

This would be the least of my concerns. It was nice that they did what they did for a couple of years, but I would imagine that the time spent versus benefits of maintaining that account would be minimal in terms of engagement. Especially with the abuse of the process that's taken part at times with over the top tagging into any semi-related conversation and demands to answer for the club on all sorts of topics.

I just upgraded my membership from a supporter member to a full season membership.

I’m sure there are many like me who will have upgraded their membership type.

It will be interesting to see a comparison between the types of memberships this year compared to previous years.

And to also compare Victorian membership to QLD membership.

No disagreement from me there dlanod.

A bit of what I’ve been doing here is reminding people who do ask questions of Lions_Insider, is that he or she isn’t logging on any more.

I think what we need is a new social media role for the Lions. I'd like to formally pitch ' BRAB insider' where BRAB responds to peoples' questions on behalf of the club and we need to guess whether he's full of shit or not.

Hey BRAB Insider, this house in Nerang says "ALL OFFERS CONSIDERED". How much should I offer?

So if Nerang is a SHITHOLE?
Does that make this a SHITHEAP?

Even the RWT has gone to crap too with next to nothing being posted.;)

I think the drop in expected numbers is due to the fitzroy/Melbourne based supporters too

I know a lot of old Roy boy supporters that are furious with our lack of games in Melbourne. Really not good enough, but I’m not going to rant about it. Completely skipped the 2020 fixture thread to avoid that haha.

Numbers are at a 10 year high for this time of year. Just because a supporter put an arbitrary number out there doesn’t mean they’re below expected numbers
Yep, we're only 6000 or so off last years total and it's only February. Anyone who says we aren't on track for 30k or so is seeing what they want to see.

Yep, my hopes mean nothing in the overall scheme of things.

So, what's the John Dory with Lions SM accounts no longer interacting with supporters? Not just here, the Twitter account doesn't respond to anyone any more either. How's FB going?

Too many Victorian fans tagged them when the fixture was released to whinge about the Victorian fans being treated unfairly.

For equities sake, the club now ignores all supporters.

When I didn’t renew my Victorian Membership in protest at the fixture, the Club ordered counter measures and closed down all social media in retaliation.
