Thought about this all afternoon and I think its a great appointment. He is hungry, eager to prove the critics and cynics wrong. Has a wealth of experience, and after a shaky start developed a lot of kids and was able to get Freo back up the ladder until the injury curse screwed them over.

As others have mentioned it looks like a nice mix in the box, and I would expect we should see a continued improvement across all facets of our play.

Much happier that he has come over as an assistant and am wrapped that we didn't take Craig in whatever director role they had pencilled.

Glad we have got Harvey as an assistant coach, he was let down by Freo who in the final stages of the season could barely field a team. Good luck and all the best Mark in your position with us. Glad you have a job.

We have some nice fresh faces in the coaching box and that will only help us going forward. With Harvey and GOD we have 2 very experienced coaches and those 2 will be great support for Voss. Other appointments recently like Woe and Muz are also bringing something new and different to help round out our panel, and i like that we've got some highly rated, but yet untried coaches like them. I also think it's a good mix for a youth based team, we need to have a strong development aspect to get the most out of our players going forward, and i think this panel will do that.

I think this is a great appointment. Last year they were crueled by injuries but in 2010 I thought freo were one of the best coached teams in the comp. With time and support I am sure Harvey could have done what bomber Thompson did at Geelong, and I am delighted to have him with us.

Also agree with these sentiments. Craig would have had some value, but I'm sure Voss will be happier running the show without a 'Director of Coaching' looking over his shoulder.

The only thing we seem to be still deficient in is a ruck coach, but with only two current ruckmen, maybe The People's Beard will take on a mentoring role here?

Agree with this summation.

Love the appointment, will be able to help with the continued development of our kids, and has senior experience of overseeing a rebuilding phase, which will be invaluable to Voss.

Will get along well with Kerr, sharing a passionate hatred of Fremantle (may have even helped in getting Harvey across). Should be an interesting game v Fremantle next year considering the intricate knowledge he will bring across as well. And possibly help with our WA trips and understanding of how to play Subiaco oval.

Why? We've seen it before. Lethal used it as a Plan B for a while back in 05-06 if I remember correctly. The extra ground he covered in midfield back then is probably responsible for some of his niggles.
