Been a good knock by McSweeney. The T20 brigade will be in conniptions that he doesn’t go at 6 an over but that’s not his style. He has a good temperament and and plays each ball on its merit which is something severely lacking in many.
The old adage of you can’t make runs from the shed is still as true as ever.
Did the hard work today on a tough pitch and hopefully he can cash in tomorrow

Give me a top order bat that values his wicket over whatever our openers have done in the last 3-4 years

Batted to the match situation given they were 3 for **** all and obviously learned from the mistakes of the other batsman throughout the day that were driving and playing in front of their body and getting caught. Left everything he could and played under his eyes when he had to play, hopefully can cash in tomorrow.

Get a 80 plus and he surely plays. One thing I will say though if that’s the thinking he has to open in the second game.

We're in dire straits already if we're excited by a guy being on 29 not out.

He's played the conditions better than everyone else, but let's keep the lid on for a sec.

His season so far
v NSW
55 (164)
127no (283)
v QLD
37 (60)
72 (130)
v India A
29no (110)

What is plainly evident is that he values his wicket and is able to occupy the crease
I would rather give him a crack than persist with duds like Harris and Bancroft

Last 8 shield innings he has made scores of 55, 67, 117, 6, 55, 127no, 37 and 72 plus a knock of 137 in a One Dayer last week. There has been a bit to be excited about from his recently looking past this single innings.

Anything is better than playing Harris at least

Any chance you can post on BF again,Harris is no good as some BF posters might have missed your comments.lol

At least 1 of the 2 options ai wanted got runs today. Hopefully McSweeney gets a ton so we never have to have the ordinary trio of Harris, Bancroft or Renshaw near calculations

That failure won’t deter Konstas, his ego and confidence are immense. The kid has made a million runs in the past few years but he’ll need time to adjust to this level where his few weaknesses will get exposed.
