Would love to see the swarming defense of a Giddey, Exum, Green, Thybulle, Daniels line up. Couldn't run often, but as a change of pace now and then to throw teams off could do a heavy switch/double team swarming defense that would be fun.
The rebounding of Daniels and Giddey could be huge for the Boomers at the Wordl Champs as it will potentially allow them to switch between their traditional half court offence (that involves running a lot of back screens to get shooters free) and quicker smaller line-up that have plenty of length.

Giddey averaged 7.9 rebounds per game last season to easily lead his team in rebounds per game. That's better than a ton of starting bigs in the NBA. OKC played a small line-up that would be similar in style to a potential Boomers small ball line-up a lot last season in that the OKC's small ball group had plenty of length but not much height with Giddey, (203cm) SGA (198cm) Dort (193cm) and J.Williams (198cm) together on court at the same time. Giddey's size meant he spent time guarding opposition bigs on defence. He is a way better defender than most anticipated pre draft due to how well he reads the game. I like the idea of Daniels and Giddey guarding opposition forwards and then on offence having two shooters like two of Mills, Ingles and Green in the same line-up with Jock Landale on the floor as the centre where he can be used as a screen and roll player.

For what it's worth and I didnt watch him a ton but Joe Ingles seemed to spend a decent amount of time as the Bucks second tallest player on court guarding bigs at times last season. It's easy to forget he's 206cm because his playing style is the role guards traditionally play. He's also surprisingly strong so he wouldn't get pushed around in the post as much as some of our taller playing options.

I think Xavier Cooks will make the team. He's been playing at the 4/5 in his brief time in the NBA. Cooks has a 7 foot wingspan and great rebounding instincts. He 'd be my choice to play centre in a a small ball pressure line-up with Exum, Daniels, Thybulle and Green on the floor and Exum at the point. All of those guys have wingspans over 6'10. That line- could be used for short burst like 3 to 4 minutes max and would rely on steals to create offence.

What's your final 12 for the World Cup from the provisional 18 man squad? I'll go with ....

Mills
Giddey
Exum
Daniels
Green
Thybulle
Ingles
Cooks
Kay
Landale
Reath

... and was originally torn between White or Maker, but now want an extra shooter. In that case, will go with Goulding as the 12th man. Tough to choose last few spots. Few guys will be upset they've been left out.
