What's your final 12 for the World Cup from the provisional 18 man squad? I'll go with ....

Mills
Giddey
Exum
Daniels
Green
Thybulle
Ingles
Cooks
Kay
Landale
Reath

... and was originally torn between White or Maker, but now want an extra shooter. In that case, will go with Goulding as the 12th man. Tough to choose last few spots. Few guys will be upset they've been left out.
v.solid

will require Simmons back*(he'll never be back) and JoshGreen&Dyson Daniels playing to toptp level to get over the Canadians in the next decade , America would need to fill their team with 7 Dramond Greens every tourney to correctly apportion team roles , 12stars won't do it

Thon cut. A sad, sad day for this thread, forum and us all.
I actually think he’s extremely unlucky not to have made the final 15. Of that squad I’d say the final 3 cuts are McDowell-White, Delly and one of Cooks/White. Still can’t really split them.

I feel like they'll pick Delly but they absolutely shouldn't be.
It won't surprise me in the slightest if they do, but he genuinely offers nothing that the others guy can't do at this stage, outside of maybe some insane hustle and veteran leadership (and do we really even need that with Mills/Ingles already offering it).

Yeah, pretty similar thinking. I'd say last three cuts are Delly, WDW and one White/Goulding?
Interestingly I saw a quote from Goorj about a week or two ago that I feel more or less confirmed he'll pick Goulding. Was talking about Giddey and how he wants to surround him with shooters, specifically mentioned Goulding.

FIBA have different rules to FIFA

FIFA is a joke with players joining other countries after representing another
FIFA is fine. It actually protects younger players from being called up by a country and given a game just to tie them to a country in case they do come good.

Rules are per the below.

It is now possible for a player to change national team even if they have played competitively at senior level, provided:
  1. the player held the nationality of their new association at the time of their first official appearance for their first national team.
  2. the player played in no more than three competitive senior games before the age of 21.
  3. the player has not played in the final stage of an official tournament such as the World Cup, European Championship, Copa America etc.
  4. at least three years have passed since the player's last senior appearance for their previous national team.

Absolute BS that Thon & Keanu have been cut ahead of some others.
Does this open the door for Thon to join the South Sudan team?
I dunno about BS but I do find it odd that McDowell-White, who is realistically no chance of making the team, hasn't been cut yet while someone like Thon could at least offer some backup if a big gets hurt.

Thon probably heading back overseas to his club, and asked to be released if he wasn't in line to make the team.

McDowell-White probably has nothing else to do.

I suppose that could easily be the case.

We have a practice match against the University of Houston today to decide the final 12 according to the socials. Game won’t be streamed.

Suspect it will be a mix of testing lineups and tactics and seeing which of the fringe guys may be able to contribute. Although it wouldn’t surprise me if Goorj uses Delly beating up on some college kids as an excuse to sneak him in.

While no official scores were kept (supposedly), the word is we won 99-65. Which sounds about right in a game where we would’ve been more or less using them as practice dummies to test things.
