Sure we can address both, but why isn't the same concern shown here about what is a major problem with society?

Why is there no concern with the male suicide rate which makes up 75% of all suicides? If the rate was 75% women making up the suicide rate do you think there would be more focus and money invested into the issue? I would presume the suicide rate and domestic violence are intrinsically linked. Fixing the crisis going on with men will only benefit women but the left is scared to tackle men's health due to the backlash they would get from woke feminists. As usual the left focuses on where they get the most benefit politically instead of fixing the root cause of a problem.

Albanese government abandons controversial misinformation bill amid widespread opposition​

The Albanese government has given up on its controversial “misinformation and disinformation bill” after it failed to garner support from a single non-Labor senator.

Communications Minister Michelle Rowland confirmed on Sunday there was “no pathway” to legislate the proposal.

“The Government will not proceed with the Communications Legislation Amendment (Combating Misinformation and Disinformation) Bill 2024,” she said.

Following the bill’s failure, the government has signalled its intention to pursue alternative proposals for regulating online content.

These include strengthening laws against non-consensual deep and sexually explicit fakes and introducing laws to enforce truth in political advertising.

The failed misinformation bill was a centrepiece of Labor’s policy agenda, with more than a year of development and consultations led by Ms Rowland.

Trade Minister Don Farrell confirmed Labor had abandoned the legislation in an interview on Sunday Agenda.

Are you suggesting the coalition fund suicide help lines more than the ALP.

Would be interested to see these facts you are claiming, as usually ALP fund these types of organisations more than the Coalition. I assume you have some evidence?

Locally here is SA, the ALP reinstated funding for the Hutt St shelter which the Liberals removed.

In case you hadn’t guessed, Buck was born a woman but now identifies (and very obviously presents as) a man. Buck has female genitals.

There’s obviously a huge spectrum of how trans men and women present. Some are more obvious, some you’d probably walk straight past without ever second guessing their birth sex.

If this argument around bathrooms is applied consistently, Buck and other very masculine looking trans men would be forced to use women’s toilets. Devil’s advocate - I wonder what people’s reaction would be if it was framed in this way?

To be expected in the age of dumbing down and oversimplifying every issue to the most reductive black/white options that this would be overlooked I guess.

I’m quite happy for Buck to use a men’s toilet and also for Buck to play mens sport as well.

The issue is about women being vulnerable to predatory men and providing safe spaces for them. I don’t see how this is relevant?

Buck presents no threat to men in the men's room. Nor to women, but it might be understandable if women felt uncomfortable with Buck being there. So on balance, it is appropriate for Buck to use the men's room.

That is not the same as cross-dressing men using the women's room.

An outlier like Buck does not invalidate the argument that men should not use the women's room.

Those unisex toilets being, for the most part, single use disabled toilets, not general "unisex".

In any case, they mostly don't want to use a unisex or some "third space" - they want to use the female toilets because they want to be "validated".

So the question is - if there is a unisex option available, and they want to use the female, is it just your "preference" that they use the unisex, or are you prepared to say "no" to them using the female one?

Those unisex toilets being, for the most part, single use disabled toilets, not general "unisex".

In any case, they mostly don't want to use a unisex or some "third space" - they want to use the female toilets because they want to be "validated".

So the question is - if there is a unisex option available, and they want to use the female, is it just your "preference" that they use the unisex, or are you prepared to say "no" to them using the female one?

Totally off topic but a couple of my experiences re toilet usage.
In the late '90 at Footy Park with my wife and her friend. The women's toilets on the eastern side were totally inadequate. My wife's girlfriend raced into the men's as not too many men sit. (Kane aside ) I don't think any man there gave it a second thought.
I'm sure the reverse would have got a reaction from the ladies.

When I worked in Melbourne, we frequented a restaurant on Southbank near the casino. It had a unisex toilet. I pity any women that had to use that after a few hours' usage. Men do not leave that space as clean as they should. Their aim is not that good sometimes.
