I know it's very unlike you to be disingenuous, but the headline/link clearly says "big changes coming to your airconditioner and hotwater unit.

Your reply talks about load shedding by industry, which is not the same as the government turning down/off your appliances because of their failed policies.

Your coalition argument doesn't work to well in SA when we've had a Labour government for the vast majority of the last 23 years.

In SA it has been the Labour governments policies that have led to us having some of the most expensive power prices in the world and soon to have us running out of power (hence the rush to get the 'green' diesel generators back on line)
The federal government energy policy should be the main driver of investment in new energy sources.

The main reason SA has had high prices is the privatisation of ETSA by the Liberals, which was on the back of Bannon nearly bankrupting the state.

Our old mate always like to post these so thought I’d do one

Yet SA has the highest priced electricity to the consumer in the country and it's not even close.

When the sun's gone down and the winds not blowing enter that dastardly fossil fuel GAS which ain't cheap unlike coal and thanks to Queensland's black coal and Victoria's dirty brown coal burning away SA keeps the lights on via the interstate interconnector.

Seriuosly is there even a skerrick of evidence that this Andrews/Allan ALP Government is not only the most financially incompetent Government let alone the most corrupt to ever hold office in Australia. At least Joh Bjelke-Petersen didn't bankrupt his state.

Government contracting out its thinking’: Victorian taxpayers forking out $900k every day for external govt consultants

The Allan government has been accused of being “contracting out its thinking” after an analysis of annual reports revealed its total bill for external consultants surpassed $325m.

Victorian taxpayers are being slugged almost $900,000 every day on external consultants.
The eye-watering figure has been exposed after an analysis of every state department and government-funded agency’s annual report, revealing a total consultancy bill of $325,140,666 in the 2023-24 financial year.

The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action was the biggest offender, spending a whopping $56.9m on consultants, while the Department of Transport and Planning racked up a bill just under $24m.

Coming in next was the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions which spent $13.1m and the Department of Treasury and Finance which set aside more than $10m.

Victoria Police’s final bill came in at $10.4m while Triple Zero Victoria spent $3.9m and the CFA dedicated $2.9m. The total consultancy bill is a decrease on the year prior, but the Allan government is facing calls to rapidly reduce its reliance on external advice as the state’s debt hurtles towards an eye-watering $187.8bn by 2027-28

About bloody time Albo, must have really hurt to utter those words given your Government/Penny Wong's absolute cluster**** of handling the whole sorry saga.

PM finally labels synagogue attack an act of terrorism

After two days of calls for the Prime Minister to label the firebombing of the Adass Israel Synagogue an act of terrorism he has finally done so – but the Victorian Premier continues to shy away branding it as such.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has finally labelled the firebombing of a Melbourne synagogue an act of terrorism, after two days of criticism and mounting pressure over his reluctance to describe the attack as such.

Australia risks becoming the next Argentina

But but but we have treasurer grim Jim Chalmers so is it really surprising?

Unfortunately we have the 3 amigos but in reality we have the 3 duds in combo Upgrade Albo, grim Jim Chalmers and the little weasel Cwissy Bowen...

So here we have Mr Potato Head talking about SMRs, which by the way don’t exist commercially, and Meta put forward a case to power their data centre, got it approved and lo and behold it won’t be nuclear but gas to power the data centre.

Yeh, nuclear ain’t the answer but I know from polling 50% of men are gullible enough (obviously low information voters and those rusted on Coalition voters) to believe nuclear is the answer.

Thought I’d share this which is over the past 12 months for SA. So 68% of power from renewables over the 12 months.

Would be higher as this would be what is used by the grid.

Much of the solar would be used by those generating it & not go into the grid.

Understand that it doesn’t include those with roof top solar but the wind contribution is significant.

There aren’t many days in a year when the wind doesn’t blow or even the sun doesn’t shine. The perfect location for wind and solar is top of Spencer Gulf - which already has renewables - the land is not good for cropping.

Think someone’s view on here gets distorted by were they are living - his opinion so anti-renewables.

Where's the true percentage on that chart for all the coal etc being burnt via the interconnector when the wind, solar, fossil fuel via GAS and battery in SA can't cut the mustard and keep the lights on when demand can't meet supply??

That chart means zero without the interconnector input,

What’s the average price per kWh in Australia?

Electricity usage rates can differ significantly between states and even within regions of the same state. This variation is influenced by factors such as distribution networks and available plans.

The AEMC Residential Electricity Price Trends report shows the average price per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for single-rate tariffs across various distribution networks.
Consequently, many states supplement these sources with more expensive coal and gas plants. South Australia relies heavily on wind power, followed by gas, which is more expensive than coal.

Well the good thing is coal power stations have a limited life thankfully and unlike gas can’t be switched off and on.

Renewables will continue to grow - no matter what you may think.

I bet he did it through gritted teeth knowing full well he will lose votes from some of his antisemite Left wing supporters.

Yeah you’re right he just completely made up that ABS mortality data.
What significant about it?
It increases with population growth?

As I said feel free to provide some insight, because just providing annual numbers tells sweet biggar all.

I think everyone here knows the dramatic spike between ‘21 and ‘22 was not down to “population growth”.

Guess again.
Spit it out Pete.. what is ypur latest conspiracy you are following?

Here is the official website on latest ABS stats.

Mortality rates 2.7% higher than last year, but 2.9% lower than 2022.

The only big spoke in mortality rates in recent years was when covid was running rampant prior to covax scheme.

But I'm sure you have another theory...

Oh it’s not a theory, I know full well that junk harmed a lot of people.

But you think it’s perfectly safe, so please, do us a big favour and take many more of them.
Come on provide some actual facts or analysis rather that quoting your conspiracy crap... which btw is breaking big footy rules.

Show me in an official government report that supports your latest UAP grifter.
