For the unaware the anti Semitic Cultural Marxist conspiracy is basically a conspiracy theory that suggest Jews from Frankfurt Uni are behind things like political correctness to try and undermine Western Society.

Andrews and Palaszczuk are the only two Covid tyrants still remaining. The rest have either been pushed out, voted out or stood down. If Andrews had any shame he would stand down.

It won't be the covid response that exits Andrews (or the IBAC reports btw). It will be the state of the roads, health, education and public transport systems; and maybe a bit of spending $1b on not having a Commonwealth Games.

Once he announces his exit date, jostling for succession will start in earnest, and that's when we'll see the current cabinet leaking against each other and Victorians will find out how much worse it is than it appears now. By that time the public service cuts happening now will start to impact service delivery too and the media will have woken up. It will be really interesting in 12 months time.

I don't think anyone is actually defending Dan at this point in time. However, for any government to be voted out of office, there must exist a viable alternative government (i.e. a functional opposition), which the voters can reasonably be expected to vote in.

I'm not arguing he's good. I'm trying to work out how a guy who gets characterised as being a facist, criminal is able to dominate elections over there. There is a clear disconnect there and "The Vic libs suck" is not a good enough explanation when you set the bar that low.

I'd love an ubiased take on the guy from someone who actually lives in Victoria. All I get in here is takes from people like Mutineer, who would vote for a literal turd if it represented the Liberal party, and covid whackjobs like Pete who don't live over there and have an axe to grind.

Unfair. I’ve given my rundown on this before.

Half of it is how pathetic and politically unsavvy the Liberals are (this is not just a Victoria problem, although it’s particularly bad there).

The other half is that, although Andrews is undoubtedly a destructive leader and a colossal prick, he is an absolutely masterful politician (there’s often a correlation between the two, sadly).

The guy plays for keeps. He uses the power he has to repeatedly kick the opposition and advance his own agenda in long-term ways that are very difficult to wind back.

Most of all, he knows that winning elections in a two-party preferred system is first and foremost about logistics and strategy and he is exceptional at both those things.

Only amateurs think the most important thing in an election is your policies.

It seems your reasoning for the Trump phenomenon is that there’s just too many uneducated deplorable dipshits in MAGA hats.

But when it comes to Dan Andrews, you‘re keen to explore whether there’s more to it than meets the eye.

The teals are starting to fill that gap federally, but that didn't translate to the state level. Even the existing independents were almost annihilated in the recent Vic election.
