I for one am all for changing the date. Even let the Indigenous elders come up with one. I dont care. But have you stopped to think for a minute as to why they havent. My old boss once said to me, dont come to me with problems, come to me with solutions. Right now we have only seen protests and no solutions. They haven't proposed a date because they dont want to celebrate it. There is no end game other than to end Australia Day all together.

Your old boss is a smart man. I operated the same with my staff. If you got a problem, you better come with a solution as who knows your solution might be better than the one I had or it might be combination of both.

Too many these days spend most of their time coming up with excuses, rather than using their energies to fix things.

Unfortunately many people are just a waste of time in the work environment, so best to associate with those who are actually doers.

Strange move with the housing crisis so much in the news.

Master Builders Association lead outcry over proposed changes to garage sizes in SA planning laws

Proposed planning laws that require new homes to have bigger garages would price South Aussies out of owning a home – adding “tens of thousands” to the cost, the industry haswarned.
I don't agree with increasing garage sizes. How about we reign in truck sizes a bit and encourage more cycling and public transport so we have fewer cars. Mali is a good politician (knowing how to keep power) but weak on policy.

Master builders are campaigners who only have the interests of developers and big shit box volume builders. Any extra dollar that will be required to be spent by builders, even if for a very good cause (see energy efficiency), they will cry against and produce some phony numbers to scare people. **** them

They can (and do) encourage all they want... but in the end they have to bow to the reality that people are buying these massive tanks in ever increasing numbers. There's a difference between idealism and realism, and unfortunately the yank tanks are on the realism side of the equation.

Solar continues to grow in NSW to new record highs, but so does overall demand... so not sure Dutton's assumptions of Australia reducing it's power needs is realistic.
