Open Grave - 8/10

Really enjoyed this last night. Could have went bad in so many instances but held together very nicely throughout. 7.3/10

I preferred the lo-fi approach rather than a Contagion type block-buster.

Copley really made it for me. I didn't like the character in District 9 but have warmed nicely to him.

I reckon he was great in district 9! Bugged me for about 10 minutes in Open Grave till it clicked who it was.

I agree that he was good but somewhat unlikable and maybe someone that visually didn't demand too much screen time.

Maybe I've just got used to him and appreciate what I didn't first time around. He was good in Europa Report also.

He's also in the remake of Oldboy, looking forward to that!

Also don't watch him in Elysium.

Not sure if it was just the bad movie or his character, it didn't work either way.

Movie 43 made more sense than Elysium did.

I have the unique ability of being able to separate a remake from a classic and see it for what it is. I know it won't be anywhere near the same, but i'm still looking forward to it.

Oh and Elysium looked terrible, i didn't even consider wasting my time with that.

Had a lazy Saturday arvo at the movies today and saw American Hustle
Christian Bale is excellent all the way through.
Highly recommend it.

Has anyone else seen American Hustle yet?

Saw it last night.

It was long, it was slow...but it was good. Not as amazing as some have talked it up to be, but it was certainly good.

The first thing that grabs you is the terrific cast and that really shone through. Bale, Lawrence, Adams all excellent with Cooper and Renner also solid. De Niro there as well, but in a nothing role.

What have I learned in the very few movies I've seen this year.

Tom Hardy - However surly, continues to impress.

Lots of Aussies in movies - which i think sums it up. The Thor guy, seen cupboards act with more intent.
