The game reminded me of a Rocky movie. The champ (us), leading an imperfect life (Hub rules broken) and subsequent criticism by media, up against the bigger opponent (Geelong's bigger bodies) intent on avenging previous defeats. Within seconds of the fight starting, the opponent gets a slightly illegal hit in which sends the champ to the canvas (Danger on Vlastuin). The champ picks themselves up but is clearly dazed. The next few rounds, the champ is out of sorts. The opponent lands some very big body blows (second quarter goals) and has the champ staggering. But the champ is the champ and so manages to get a jab in just before the bell which surprises the opponent (Martin's goal before half time). The next round, the opponent comes out thinking they've done enough but is surprised to see the champ is back. The champ suddenly has the ascendency and lands body blow after body blow. The opponent starts to have doubts (thinks of 2019 Prelim). Suddenly, the judges have the champ ahead on points come the last round. The champ has in their mind all the training they put into this, into perfecting their style (surge). The opponent can't believe it. They had thrown everything they had at the champ and thought they had it won. However, the champ is the champ because they have the mental and physical strength to absorb all this and focus. Now it is the opponent staggering. Blow after blow, the champ builds up momentum. A few jabs and body blows are finally met with the knockout punch (Martin's last goal) which sends their opponent crashing to the canvas. The bout is over. The champ remains the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. The media jumps on the bandwagon celebrating the victory. Yes, it was one of the sweetest victories of all.

That was ... (wipes away tear) ... just ... beautiful.

Peggy hated the night aspect.
Too long to wait for the game, people in ordinary condition as the game starts, way to late for young families, too late for player and fan celebrations after the game that will heavily impact on traditional family day the following day, and I was surprised as a president she had absolutely no say in the matter.
