Yeah exactly.
I think the other thing that is getting overlooked are the kids. As kids we all grow up not really understanding why the adults watch the tv when you can just go outside and play!!! It’s more fun!!! Run around. This is how it starts.on that special day when all the adults are sitting around watching the game and the whole day is central to this one game....kids gravitate towards it. They learn to love watching the game as well. The game was on way way too late for kids to get a chance. To form those memories of that special day that we all had growing up
Ralphy said in today's paper his kids lasted until half time and had to watch the second half the following morning, and he said it was so hard for him to keep the poker face and not give away the result.
He obviously disliked it as well

The kids usually watch for a half and then get sick of it anyway.

By the time they are old enough to sit through a whole game, they are old enough to stay up to watch it, one night staying up won't hurt them.

As a kid I used to stay up and watch the Brownlow, don't see why kids can't stay up to watch the Grand final

it was sh*t

2.30 start is best but watch em do twilight
Happy with twilight... 2017 prelim vs GWS was best!
First half all in full sunshine, 2nd half night!
Got super loose, plenty time to party still

Yep the "role player" tag does my head in. They still say vlaustin is a role player. Please. he would be the best defender at most sides. Its actually disrespectful

Most of it is just a hive mind mentality. It's been belted into their heads for so long by the media, all they think about is us being a team of role players and Dusty.

Have a look at the way shows talk about us vs other teams. I don't believe they talk about us any less or give us any less praise than they do others, but when they talk about us, they only ever talk about the team and the system. That is fine, but with other teams they will always pick one or two B grade players and analyse their importance to the team, they rarely do this with us, it's only ever either praising the whole system or one of our star players. etc

most football fans pretty much just regurgitate what the media say.

Nick Vlastuin would be seen very differently if he was in a Collingwood or Geelong jumper.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but I noticed that Byron Pickett didn't crack a smile at all during the presentation of the Norm Smith.

We have to prepare ourselves for life after Dusty

I've prepared a submission for the AFL to introduce a Father-Illegitimate Son rule. If my Cray computer calculations are correct, using anecdotal data gathered from QLD this weekend, we could have a solid team in 2038.

Based on who he spends his summers with, he may have offspring that win 35 Grand Slams also.

I thought it was odd Matthews making the comment about being ok with Dusty being compared to him, sounded like big-noting himself, but I wasn't aware of the the back story.

Apparently he wasn't happy at all at the begining of the year when Toby Green was compared to him and let his feelings on the comparison known.... lol.

matthews is in love with himself

have you lads noticed with the fu** off danger goal dusty scored in the granny he didnt attack stanley like most players would

he saw the situation, bumbling ruck and danger standing in front of him, dusty knew 100% because stanley is cooked he will auto handball to danger without looking, so instead of going for the tackle like ordinary players would , he was smart he ran in between stanley and danger and stole the handball and scored the goal

thats why he is so good, he has it all, power, speed , skills, poise and smarts

On the replay you could see Dusty getting ready tot tackle then changed as he realised what was going to happen before the Geelong players did and stole the ball. Genius!

I assume you mean Marlion.
He has a lot on his mind.
