No Bambino-personal reasons as he has had a bad run lately. Egan and Archard will be hard to contain but it should be a great hit-out. I'm sure the Ballarat Boys would love to return to the glory days of the mid to late 80's when they were the number 1 league

It has taken 10 years but we now have a Darley v Marsh game that will be worth attending.
Always thought we would see the Marsh improve which would get us a competitive match, not that Darley would slide.

True. But Darley might actually have to try in this derby.
In the past we could have put our under 10's out there and the mentally fragile marsh boys would still go to water.
Like always if Darley kick the first couple, another 100 point hiding would be on the cards for the poor old cobras.
But if they were ever a chance, its this week.
Interesting start to the season this year! Darley in deep deep trouble, South has won 4 more games than anyone was expecting them to for the whole year!
The Marsh seem to be playing some fairly good footy despite some ups and downs and North City has beaten both Redan and Ballarat!
Sunbury just rolling on as usual but what a great start to the season with some unexpected results and teams improving!

Great start by South - the next 4 games will show how much they have improved. Sunba away, Ballarat away, Redan at home and East Point away. If they can be competative aginst these 4 teams it all is well for their future.

Alot of people are in dream land to think darley wont finish on the bottom of the ladder ,and you few that get on here and still think they are any good are either dumb or one eyed......or both .they are the most soft centered pretenders that runonto a ground . im sorry learmonth they are not playing for you you might as well jump befor eyou get pushed and if renyolds takes over god help them , he has been there with the last two coaches so he is part of the problem ..need outsider to come in and sweep clean all coaches must go ...............but good to see them lingering on bottom ........hahahah

You mean the last two coaches who led Darley to the finals every year apart from two? Definitely part of the problem.

Gee Sunbury are an impressive unit.
The first half of the game was fairly competitive. South missing Sutton hurt quite a bit as they lacked forward options.
After half time the Lions took control of the game all over the ground, Simon Clarke very impressive in particular.
Thought that Nottman was very good for South.
Game was spiteful at times, but all in all a pretty good contest, despite the margin, South certainly weren't disgraced...

Well...for the first time since 2001, it happened. Darley were pretty ordinary. Didnt have much pace the devils in the end. Couple of their players are just not up to playing seniors at this stage, but admire darley for playing them in their "grand final" for this year. Tought Cape cost them a couple of goals in the 3rd term, on one occasion going the man not the ball, most of you probably didnt see as it happened near where i was watching. Also thought the yelling of "jail" jokes by marsh people directed at a certain Darley player was low, as it has nothing to do with footy. A 9 goal 3rd term sums it up. Althoug thought Darley were gonna make a charge in the 4th with the "scoring end"

Has been a while since Sunba played a final in Ballarat. The umpires now do a good enough job at their home finals to have to worry about playing in ballarat.

yes i am saying that when six out of the eleven make finals more than 50% any blonk, can coach a team to the fnals . it amazes me that people are blinded , thay are a shit team at the moment ,fact two games clear on the bottom what dont you , one eyed supporters understand . they need to clear the whole coaching staff out , pay porter his million bucks and send him on his way,and start with the kids and push them , it amy take time but the winning culture might come back instead of trying to buy a flag .darley have had the best team on paper many times , so it has to be something wrong there surely .. wake up otherwise they will be at the bottom for years..................fact two games clear on bottom ...

But winning is everything. The coach has failed and it surpises why he ever got a gig this year. Some of the basics witnessed at games such as against the Cobras are mind boggling. e.g. McAllister starred and marked strongly all around the ground...but was he ever rested in the forward line when we were going with the wind to grab a few and kick a goal. Nuh. He trodged off for a 1 minute break and then trodged on again. Where were the Devils losing? Yep you guessed it...in their forward line.
But you watch...when Learmonth is finally sidelined who will be given the job?? Why Crackers of course. And he goes around everywhere with a mirror. Unless Darley clean sweep both the coach and his assistants they will be cellar dwellers for a few years to come.

nothing competetive at all sth managed a couple if goals for three quarters inside 50s count was clearly dominated by sunba
late goals in the last quarter when sunba packed up was the only reason sth got to score
not sure what game you were watching ? maybe you spend too much time at the junior level and miss the key points of the senior grade ?

Never once suggested Sunbury didn't dominate in the inside 50's, never once suggested that Sunbury didn't look like they could break the game apart at any stage, what I said was

Maybe you spent too much time sticking gum under the table and forgot to learn how to read...
But maybe I do miss the "points" of the senior grade..
But just for those that are "Sunba" supporters that for some reason believe I am degrading the Lions, they were awesome, fantastic, brilliant, outstanding, dominant...
Cam McCabe kicking 7 goals, brilliant work, Simon Clarke - unstoppable, Matty Medcraft was excellent and the Lions have far too many options for other sides to contain, they link up well through the half back line and were far too solid around stoppages.
