Looks like an incident out of the 60's. I can't believe he only got three weeks for that piece of thuggery. More importantly, how does he look as a footballer? Has he shown anything to suggest he has a show of making the grade?
If we could put his body on freddy's, we'd have one hell of a player but as he is now, he's got a long way to go

I actually didn't think it was a hanging offence. A guy came charging at him and he stodd and stuck his elbow up in protection.

The guy grabbing his jumper from behind didn't get coward punched. Faye looked to me to swing his arms at the opponents arms to break him off. The 3rd? Looked like a dive.

I think he was stiff to cop 3 weeks. Maybe 2 and move on.

Relax mate. A thug is a Barry Hally type.
Faye went a tad overboard but had players coming at him.
Happy he decided to defend himself and his teammates.

Yeah, he was in serious danger when a bloke was tugging at his jumper. Happy he decided to throw a blind haymaker at him that could've put him in the emergency department.

Don't know yet how good Bassirou will be. Started playing 5 or 6 years before Cox age.

Does being a genuine good footballer give you access to thuggery?
Not access, no, but good footballers make and remain on lists despite making more than their fair share of indiscretions. Phil Carman, for instance, would not have survived in the game as long as he did if not for his ability to win matches as well as throw punches. Hopefully Bassirou is going to pick up the skills and processes of the game quickly and confine his punches to the boxing ring.

Perhaps not the greatest look but no one from here was there I am assuming. To me, maybe looks worse than it is, because 3 weeks doesn’t seem a lot for “throwing coward punches” as someone liked to put out there.
Even more so when others players involved cop 2 weeks also, unless people actually were there and actually saw what happened then we are just commentating on the footage shown and I agree it does not look the best.

Faye maybe a huge bloke but if you have 3 or 4 coming at you at the same time it is easy to see why he starts flinging his arms around but really I think if you have watched football at any level over the past 35yrs you would have seen worse than that.

It was like a throwback to the old days and looked so raw compared to these days but everyone who deserved a suspension got one and it will not happen again but if you are playing a collision sport a little aggression goes a long way.

Reminded me of Chris Johnson in the International Rules when poor Irish lads were going down left right and centre

When the guy grabbed his jumper, he didn’t swing his arms at his head. He went down to chop his arms away. Nothing out of the ordinary about that. Why insist it was a coward punch to someone pulling on the back of his jumper when it clearly was not?

In fact, given his height, he could easily have hit him in the head. However he consciously went low at the arms.

Are we viewing different footage?

You'll have to excuse Kappy. This footage has brought up some repressed memory of a nasty episode at an intraclub.

A lot of players wanted to belt him but he was too fast and too good at leaping fences.

He's playing against kids just trying to have fun and throwing left hooks at people trying to break up the scuffle, he's a massive guy and literally could give someone brain damage if it landed. But yeah... sort of like it. Good one.

WTF are you on about with “kids just trying to have fun”?

It’s senior footy FFS.

Actually looks like someone who would get his arse whipped by anyone with any fighting ability.

They aren't actually skillful punches he is throwing.
