Re: Bay 13 Ashes thread

Andrew Hilditch - How does this pinhead get to be Chairman of Selectors? No wonder we're struggling with this clown running the show. Couldn't pick his own arse, let alone a decent cricket side.

This bloke is more responsible than any for our current selections woes... along with his mates Hughes and Boon, those guys have made some of the greatest selection f**k ups in Aus cricket history.

Re: Bay 13 Ashes thread

Safraz is a must. He is really our only "stopper" and the best exponent of seam movement in the aussie side. Anyone that saw Lee's spell against the lions with the reversing ball would not be questioning his selection. MJ has looked ordinary in the warm up games.. hoping he is holding something back for the main event (inswing to the right handers). Hauritz would be 100/1 to get picked in the first test. Our spin options will be used for over rate and hopefully snag a wicket or 2.

Cardiff is supposed to be dry, reverse swing and spin should come to the fore. I wouldn't be surprised if the poms make it pretty dead in terms of bounce and pace. They will be relying on reverse swing and spin and a slow wicket will nulify Siddle, Safraz and Johnson in terms of their wicket taking ability.

Sarfraz..hahahaha. nice comparison. I assume it's Stuart Clark.

He owns the line about an inch outside Off-stump just like Oh Ah did.

He'll take plenty of wickets on the pommies seaming wickets.

Lee will be cetain starter after watching him bowling those big in dippers.

4 quicks I think.

Rubbish... Lee bowling 150+ kph with reverse swing >>>>>>>>>> Hilfy who seems to be only dangerous for the first 10 overs of an innings.

Lee at 150? I haven't seen him bowl that fast in years.

Means nothing. Lee has proven over the years that he hasn't got more than one brain cell and will continually bowl short and wide shit regardless of whether there is swing or not.

Re: Bay 13 Ashes thread

Bullshit, Lee out is a huge loss. He claimed he recently just figured out how to bowl in England as well. We need his experience. This is exactly like 2005. We lost McGrath just before the first test and the rest is history.

Re: Bay 13 Ashes thread

Clearly your views on cricket are as misguided as your views on footy...
So not very? Agreed. MJ is a bit the same. It amazes me how a player can get to that level and not be able to swing the the new ball all the time. Div 4 players can do that.

Nah we smashed them in the first test brother. It was the second test when Pige went down and it shook us. Mind you the old Edgbaston offering in 2005 was probably the best test match of the last 20 years.

Yeah true, great memory i have...

Will we play a geniune spinner? Or go with the part timers in North and Katich?

Re: Bay 13 Ashes thread

Lee missing is a big blow, he was beginning to swing it, combine that with his pace and mongrel attitude and you've got an experienced bowler who would've been more than handy.

Oh and FR, don't try and tell me Healy is not a w***er, he is the definition of a w***er.

I think you will find it depends on the ball. Anyone can swing a ball on their day. To say that every opener should swing the ball all the time shows your lack of knowledge.
