Go back to that all Melbourne final - if it's the Stars who win instead, the team that was meant to be the dominant force at least from this state, and seemed like the favourite chold, do they still make the decision to dissolve the seperate boards & bring them under CV?

The best thing that could happen for both teams is as you said, remove them from being under the same operation & allow them to be independent teams again

If they did that, it would be interesting to see how things went for both teams

Exactly, you can then build a genuine rivalry.

He’s really bad with two bad “experts”

He was an excellent domestic bowler. It's hard to believe he ever played the game listening to him commentate. Like you might not like say Mark Waugh but he does have some insightful stuff about fielding and batting technique etc. I might as well commentate instead of BJ.

Maybe this team should refuse to have any power surges?

We genuinely are hopeless.

Why didn't Bethel being the in form batsman retain the strike? This team is anti winning.

Brown missed the trip out west due to "soreness", and he hasn't looked likely in either match since returning. Even when he wasn't going on with this starts earlier in the season, he was at least getting starts but now he's struggling to lay bat on ball - maybe not 100% at the moment

Harris came in after they finally acknowledged JFM simply wasn't working as an opener - problem is he isn't working either. Can go back to our match in Geelong & I called for Harvey to replace JFM as opener with Rooster coming in down the order. Would like to have tried that rather than going back to Harris
Brown going from the good deck at the Gabba to a shithole at Marvel the way he bats was always a very risky move.

I think there is something of that rivalry amongst the fans - catching the train back to Geelong on Sunday night after the derby, it was absolutely packed with red & green

The idea of "just fold" them sounds potentially easy in theory but it's not a realistic option unless you're also going to fold the team in green & start with a freshly branded Melbourne/Vic team - doubt the fans of one team will simply start following the team that's left purely because they're there

Rather see the teams given a chance to rebuild their own identity that they had built for the best part of a decade, and see where that can take them

Off-tube or not, it's staggering an ex-test cricketer could be so bad at judging where a ball is going in the outfield.
It’s also absolutely staggering how bad he is at understanding the tactics and nuances of T20. Including working out what the likely total of an innings will be. Very regularly (and he did it again tonight), he thinks the batting team will score at about 6 runs per over off the last handful of overs.
