Sacking jfm would be a start. Brown also is not worth what they are paying him.
Wells was a costly injury he's the kind of cricket brain that can build an innings that they need
Brown has been a major disappointment.
I think the grand plan from CV will be to eventually move JFM across to the Stars.
I don't get why we played with the batting line up as much as we did tonight
I understand against Perth why we made slight changes - Harris was clearly in to open, JFM needed to drop down the order and with Brown out it made sense to bring Seifert up to open
What I would have liked to do tonight was Brown return to open, Seifert back to 3, Bethell stays at 4 with Sutherland moving up to 5 and JFM down the order
Not sure why Seifert has gone from batting at 3, to opener to 5 tonight - he's looked solid when coming in to the order, so which we stuck with that
I still sort of see it as a Chris Lynn/Brisbane Heat type scenario. To think if you go back through the first 4-5 match threads, so many people said the Stars had to get rid of Maxwell…
Be snapped up by 7 other franchise if he was ever let go!!!
Was at the game too.Went to the game tonight.
Renegades proved they are the world champions of dumb cricket. Congratulations
To allow Maxwell to milk the strike with singles at the end of the over (pretty much most overs) with zero pressure is laughable. Is this team actually serious?
I thought some of the field placings were not great.
Then with the bat - surely the job of Harris was just to rotate the strike and keep things ticking over. As opposed to trying to play the hero shot.
Our first 4 overs with the bat of most matches is pathetic. Can't even go at a run a ball with 2 fielders out. heck the Stars face us half the early runs through extras. In four overs there was barely 1 good cricket shot.
And another horrible power surge with the ball and bat. Took it maybe an over too late today but the real problem was the execution - horrific .
I still sort of see it as a Chris Lynn/Brisbane Heat type scenario.
Lynn scored a mountain of runs for the Heat but eventually they kept losing and Khawaja was brought in & told them to clean up the culture and part of that was getting rid of Lynn.
In the following 2 seasons after that decision they made 2 GFs and won a BBL.
In the 5 seasons leading up to that decision the Heat made the finals once and Lynn was leading run scorer for the heat 3 years in a row in the 4 year period before his departure.
Maxi will stay but they seriously need to move Stoinis on.
You can't keep both of them they have won them nothing in a decade they have been there so what's going to change if they dont win it this year. When they keep getting older.
Stoinis contract would be eye watering and the one that kills them.
There is too little movement between sides so it is hard to re balance but sometimes you just have to let them go.
Brisbane have benefitted from Lynn leaving as you said and Hurricanes letting Darcy Short go I think has been a big positive as well.
Non performing players on big contracts is a killer.
Bethell has left for International duty in India.Great, so the team that likely finishes bottom in the Gades do nothing. Once again it is big brother that appears to be the preference for Cricket Victoria.
Hopefully Nathan Lyon (never plays), Mackenzie Harvey, Marcus Harris, Kane Richardson as a starting point.
Now Bethell has gone home? Why isn't her playing tonight against the Heat?
Bethell has left for International duty in India.
This is my problem with the Gades - what was the plan had they made finals? Happens most years with their internationals - Nabi, De Kock etc.
No Bethel? No Laurie Evans? Other teams gain Australian players and get stronger. We become weaker.
We got Seifert for the whole season though
