He started his innings with 9/10 off similar number of balls, but unlike previous matches he didn't try to force things tonight

It's a pity this came in the last match and not earlier in the season, but hopefully it's a real learning experience for him

Never too late to learn.

Tonight might've taught him a thing or two.

Yeah but it is the Stars. Hobart could rest their entire 11 and the Stars could still find a way to lose it

Stars could lose it by a lot or win in 15 overs (especially if they chase and maxi gets going). They are that sort of side.

I'm backing the Canes in - winning form is good form and not sure they'll want to go into the finals on a loss

I think they will rest a couple (especially the older guys they have to) but their squad depth is good and they are capable. It will be a tall order for the Stars. What they have is if Maxwell and stoinis get going it doesn't really matter what the bowling attack serves up they will get the runs. But these guys are boom or bust.

I'll always say the fixturing in the BBL is a joke whereby you only play 3 of the other 7 teams twice but the Heat can only blame themselves for missing the finals.

They have probably produced one commanding performance this season and that was their opening match against the Stars who looked like Spuds at the time.

To go from champions to finishing no higher than 7th is not good enough.

I watching the replay at the moment - turned on early in JFMs innings

He was 11 off 12 when he hit his first 6 off Nesser, to take him to 17 off 13 and then it became 30 off 16 over the next 3 balls

He gave himself a chance last night, and while that first 6 looked a little sketchy, he then got into a nice rhythm and didn't try to over hit it when he wasn't there to be hit
