Thunder a win away from having 1 less title than the Sixers. Doesn’t seem right.
Not many finals without either the Scorchers or Sixers in it.
Just the 4th ever
M.Hussey out of the com team for Thunder matches.
Garton up there with the worst to play in the tournament
The Sixers have lost 3 straight BBL finals matches at the SCG - 2023 'Challenger' to the Heat, 2024 final against the Heat and tonight's 'Challenger' match against the Thunder.
M.Hussey out of the com team for Thunder matches.
Thunder will be more than happy to go in as underdogs in the Final.
Fancy the Thunder to bowl as much spin again to the Canes in : Green, Tanveer Sangha and Tom Andrews. Half of the overs tonight were spin.
Tactically, David Warner and Green were a big reason why they restricted the Sixers to what they did. Having a James Vince there or even Abbott, probably the difference tonight. Bancroft isn't much of a loss and Daniel Sams loss doesnt outweigh the loss of what the Sixers have.
Yep the Sixers top order has alot more flow to it with James Vince or Steve Smith opening. Philippe question marks under big match pressure. Edwards was really poor as a bat this season bar 1 or 2 good innings- part of that reason was them shuffling him down the order and not giving him security of where to bat. Losing Vince to the other league, has stuffed up their chemistry with the bat. The batters don't know how to go about their innings. Tonight the Sixers scored 32 runs off the first 6 overs and that was probably where the game was won. They are pretty weak come finals time, I’d **** Vince off if he can’t commit for the season and find someone else
T20 is a format its hard to have dynasties.Seven straight seasons the Sixers have made the finals and only twice have they won the title. Safe to say they have underachieved.![]()
This is a radical idea, probably an overreaction but I'd ask James Vince to either commit for the entire tournament or don't even bother turning up if I was the Sixers. Same with Laurie Evans. Yes the BBL can't compete financially with the UAE comp but that tournament is about as soulless as it gets.
