You'd come out of that with good draft pics or another good player you'd think

Yeah, I'd hope so. It's not like we're desperately trying to get salary off our books so it's irrational to think we're saying to explore his options in the hope of a pick in the 30's.

Choco would have no inside knowledge

it’s as simple as he’s one of a few we have over a certain age who have currency on our list
At some point you will come to realise that Brown is leaving whether you like it or not, him staying because you don't get 2x 1st round picks + Stephenson is not possible.

And that you have 0 bargaining power or leverage in this trade.

Not even joking/having a go, just the truth.

The bargaining Power is in the multiple clubs going after him

I mean it goes both ways, he's not the only KPF on the market either.

Daniher, Cameron, Brown make an exceptionally rare year for quality KPFs, you have no seller power here either. North can also pretend that Brown is linked to all these other clubs all they want. But the supposed suiters in WBD and Hawthorn aren't even realistic, with the demographic of distribution of players in their lists.

This is probably the worst year in the past decade to be selling a KPF.

North have told him to find a new home according to Sam McClure.

Basically pushing him out the door, welcome to the Pies

Collingwood can't even afford their own players let alone trading for a guy like Ben Brown.

Well people are Linking lot of Players to Geelong and they would be close to the Salary Cap.

Plus I reckon we will have lot of Players Leave. Beams and Langdon been taken off will open a lot of Cap Space

If true, that would be great.

But even then, this is probably still less than the cap saved from all our retirees (Dunn, Broomhead, Reid, etc etc etc)

It wouldn’t make sense for anyone to be paying Brown $800k at this point, so it’s an invalid argument. Regardless of that, no club is going to cough up two first round pick for a player who’s being pretty unceremoniously shown the door.

and been Injured pretty much all year

Pies first and second rounder with a third coming back should do the trick. Anything more and Collingwood would be overpaying
Assuming this is the value:

It will be a 2021 1st + player to alleviate more cap pressure

Our recruiter seems to want to trade up our pick 12 from 2020 for a better player/avoid bid for McInnes

Not in the Same Draft with the NGA this Draft and Nick Daicos next draft.

But maybe 1st in 1 Draft and 2nd in the other Draft

Collingwood needs it’s later picks this year and next in order to pay for Reef McInness and Nick Daicos.

Adelaide will grab him. The kid is a freak
I reckon Adelaide will grab Thilthorpe. They seem to freak out at the prospect of interstate kids leaving and pick local kids as much as possible.
